NSEC 2025-26: The National Standard Examination in Chemistry (NSEC) is the first stage of the Chemistry Olympiad in India, conducted for higher secondary students. It is organized annually by the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT), typically in the month of November, to foster interest in Chemistry and identify talented students for further stages of the Olympiad. 

NSEC Admit Card was released on the official website. NSEC Exam will be held on 23rd November 2025 (Sunday) from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Note: The NSEC Pre-Departure Camp is tentatively planned for the 2nd week of November 2025. The exact dates are yet to be confirmed. This camp is an important training session.

IAPT released the circular along with the complete schedule for NSEC Registration process for National Standard Examination in Chemistry. The registration process was initiated on 1 August 2025, and the NSEC 2025 Online Registration Window remained open till the deadline. NSEC 2025-26 Eligibility Criteria 

NSEC Olympiad exam is for Indian students who have a keen interest in chemistry and have excelled in chemistry. Around 850 centres are allocated by the organizing committee in various cities and towns officials facilitate the NSEC examination. Students must satisfy the NSEC 2025-26 eligibility criteria mentioned below:

• Students must possess an Indian passport.
• Students must be born between 1st July 2006 and 30th June 2011, all dates inclusive.
• They must be living in India and studying in the country on or before 30th November 2023 OR must be studying in the Indian school system on or before 30th November 2023.
• Students must not pass (or clear) the board examination for Class XII in 2025.
• They must not register for any NSEJS 2025-26 exam is initiated (or intended to begin) study at a university or similar institution before 1 June 2025.

• Exam level/syllabus - Below CBSE Class 12 syllabus for Chemistry.
• Test Medium/Language - English and Hindi (as selected during registration).
• Question Type - Multiple Choice.
• Total Number of Questions - 60
• Total Marks - 216 Marks
• Marking Scale - 3 marks are awarded for each question and in case of wrong answer, one mark will be deducted.
