The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) No. 01/2026 for hiring Assistant Loco Pilots (ALP). Many people apply for this job because there are 11,127 vacancies across the country. However, every year, the boards reject many forms during the checking stage. Rejection means the candidate cannot sit for the exam, and the application fee is not returned. It is important to know the exact rules from the RRB ALP official notification so that the form remains safe and accepted.

The official document lists specific mistakes that will make an application invalid. Candidates must avoid these errors when filling out their online forms.
A candidate can choose only one RRB zone and submit only one online application form. If a person sends more than one form to the same RRB or different RRBs, all forms will be cancelled completely. Doing this also means the person will be blocked from taking any future railway exams. Even making minor changes to personal information to try to submit multiple forms will lead to automatic rejection.
The application process requires candidates to capture a live photograph of themselves on the portal. Specific instructions are given for this process. If the live photo is blurry, not clear, or does not meet the standard rules, the form will be rejected at any stage of the recruitment process.
Candidates must upload a scanned image of their own signature. This signature must be written in running handwriting. Writing the signature in capital block letters or using disconnected letters is strictly forbidden. If a signature is blurry, unreadable, or written in capital letters, the application will be rejected. The signature must also stay exactly the same on all sheets and documents at every stage of the test.
The personal information like the candidate's name, father's name, mother's name, and date of birth must match the Class 10 or Matriculation certificate exactly. If there is any difference between the information written in the form and the school certificates, the candidate will be disqualified. Any legal name change must be done before submitting the application, and the official Gazette paper must be shown later.
Candidates must have already passed their minimum required educational or technical degrees before the last date of application submission, which is June 14, 2026. People who are still waiting for their final school results are not allowed to apply. If anyone applies without having the final certificate in hand, the application will be cancelled during document verification.
An application is only accepted after the required exam fee is successfully paid online. Payments must be made using internet banking, debit/credit cards, or UPI before June 16, 2026. Forms that are sent without the correct fee amount will be rejected immediately without any warning.
The railway boards keep a record of candidates who were caught using unfair means or cheating in past exams. If an applicant’s name is on this debarred list, the current form will be rejected as soon as the system finds it. People who have been dismissed from service by the government or public sector units are also not allowed to apply.
The status of the applications is updated on the official websites after scrutiny is completed. Candidates can check their status by logging into the regional portal using their account details. If a form is rejected, the website will show the exact reason for the decision. This decision made by the RRB is final and binding on the candidate. No letters or complaints will be entertained regarding the rejection, and no money will be sent back.
