President of India: Draupadi Murmu is the 15th President of India, and she's the first tribal woman to hold this important position. She got a lot of support from different political parties, especially the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Right from the beginning, she was expected to win over the other candidate, Yashwant Sinha, who was backed by the opposition.

In India, the President is like the top leader and is called the first citizen of the country. According to Article 52 of the Indian Constitution, there must be a President. Article 53 says that the President holds all the power to run the country, either by themselves or through their team. The Constitution of India was adopted on November 26, 1949, and it officially started on January 26, 1950. The first President of India was Rajendra Prasad.

Article 58 of the Indian Constitution outlines eligibility criteria for presidential candidates:

1. Citizenship: The candidate must be a citizen of India.

2. Age: At least 35 years old.

3. Qualification: The candidate should be eligible for election as a member of the Lok Sabha.

4. No Office of Profit: The candidate should not hold any office of profit under the State Government, Union, or other local authorities.

The President of India serves as the constitutional head of the parliamentary system and holds the position of Supreme Commander of the Indian Armed Forces. While representing the nation, the President does not wield governing authority, which is instead vested in the council of ministers. The President is elected by an electoral college comprising elected members of both houses of Parliament, elected members of state legislatures, and elected members of the legislative assemblies of Delhi and Puducherry. Their term lasts for five years, but they are eligible for immediate re-election and can serve multiple terms. Removal from office can occur if there's a constitutional violation, through an impeachment process initiated in either house of Parliament. In case of the President's absence due to death, resignation, impeachment, or vacancy in the Vice President's seat, the Vice President assumes the President's duties. If the Vice President's seat is also vacant, the Chief Justice of India serves as the acting President.
