In SSC CHSL eligibility, candidates must meet the required conditions regarding nationality, age limit, and educational qualifications as specified by the commission.
Nationality: Candidates must be citizens of India, subjects of Nepal or Bhutan, or eligible Indian-origin migrants.
Age Limit: The general age limit is set between 18 and 27 years as of the crucial date specified in the notice.
Age Relaxation: Upper age relaxations are provided to reserved categories, such as 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and 10 years for PwBD candidates.
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 12th standard or an equivalent exam from a recognised board. For specific Data Entry Operator positions in key ministries, passing the 12th standard in the Science stream with Mathematics is compulsory.
SSC CHSL Selection Process 2026 includes two rounds in the selection process.
Tier-I Examination: A computer-based test containing multiple-choice objective questions designed to screen candidates.
Tier-II Examination: A comprehensive test that includes objective tests covering mathematical abilities, reasoning, English, general awareness, a mandatory qualifying computer knowledge test, and skill or typing tests.

English Language: Grammar rules, error spotting, fill in the blanks, synonyms, antonyms, spelling correction, idioms, phrases, and reading comprehension passages.

Quantitative Aptitude: Basic mathematical skills including percentage, ratio, averages, simple and compound interest, profit and loss, time and work, algebra, geometry, mensuration, and trigonometry.
General Awareness: Questions on surrounding environments, current events, history, culture, geography, economics, general policy, and scientific research.
Computer Knowledge Module: Basics of computers, operating systems, software like MS Word and MS Excel, internet usage, browsing, emails, and basic network security threats.
