SSC CHSL Tier 1 Exam Pattern follows a computer-based online test (CBT) format, where candidates are provided 60 minutes (80 minutes for PWD candidates) to complete the paper. The Tier-I paper consists of 100 questions, and each question carries 2 marks.

SSC CHSL Tier-II exam will consist of 4 sections, each having different modules. SSC CHSL Skill Test and Typing Test 2026

Candidates should prepare for the applicable Skill Test or Typing Test along with the written examination because these tests are mandatory and qualifying in nature.

DEO Skill Test

The Data Entry Operator Skill Test is mandatory for candidates applying for DEO posts.

The required data entry speed is:

  • 15,000 Key Depressions per Hour (KDPH) for specified DEO/DEO Grade A posts.
  • 8,000 Key Depressions per Hour (KDPH) for other DEO/DEO Grade A posts.

The Skill Test is conducted for 15 minutes.

LDC/JSA Typing Test

Candidates applying for LDC/JSA posts are required to take the Typing Test.

  • English: 35 words per minute
  • Hindi: 30 words per minute

Candidates have to select their typing test medium while filling out the online application form. The selected medium cannot subsequently be changed. Hindi typing is conducted using the Mangal font.
