SSC Reforms: SSC wants to bring changes in the recruitment process of the CGL, CHSL, Steno, GD Constable, JHT, Selection Post, and Steno exams. It happened due to the continuous efforts of the candidates who protested against the commission in August 2025.

SSC Exam Reforms

SSC exam reforms are the most discussed part of the 2025 changes. The commission has worked on both exam patterns and procedures. 

  • Shorter notice period: The notice period has been reduced from 45 days to just 21 days. This means exams will be announced and conducted quickly.

  • Computer-based tests only: All exams will now be held in online mode. It can ensure transparency and reduce human error.

  • Removal of interviews: It is expected to remove interviews from some recruitment exams soon. This ensures that selection is based on exam performance and not on subjective judgments.

  • Sliding scheme: SSC has introduced a sliding scheme. If any candidate is selected for more than one post, the vacant post will be given to someone on the waiting list. 

  • Lower fees for answer key objection: The fee for challenging answer keys has been reduced to ₹50. This makes it affordable for all students.

SSC Faster Candidate Verification

One of the main reasons for the delay in SSC recruitment was document verification. Earlier, candidates had to submit documents physically and attend verification centres. This consumed a lot of time. In the SSC reforms 2025, the process has become digital.

The commission has introduced Aadhaar-based verification and e-Dossiers. Candidates can now submit their documents digitally. This step saves time and also stops fake applications. With Aadhaar-based verification, the identity of applicants can be confirmed quickly.
