OJEE Government Colleges List 2025: Odisha Joint Entrance Examination Board (OJEEB), every year, announces the OJEE Government Colleges List 2025. More than 40 colleges in Odisha accept OJEE 2025 scores for admission to various engineering courses. 

Government-sponsored colleges include the College of Engineering and Technology in Bhubaneswar and the Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology in Dhenkanal.

The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) 2025 is a state-level exam for admission to B.Tech courses in Odisha. Each year, around 50,000 to 1,00,000 students appear for the OJEE Examination seeking entry into top B.Tech and Engineering Colleges across the state.

Government College of Engineering, Kalahandi

The Government of Odisha established the Government College of Engineering in Kalahandi in 2009 through an official act. This college is part of the Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) system. It is located in Bhawanipatna, the district headquarters of Kalahandi, and covers about 30 to 41 acres of land near NH 201. 

GCE Kalahandi is one of the OJEE Government Colleges List 2025 offering full-time B.Tech courses in civil, mechanical, electrical, and computer science engineering. Since 2015, it has also provided M.Tech programs in electrical and mechanical engineering. Admissions are typically through the JEE Main and OJEE exams. The college has separate hostels for boys and girls and maintains an active training and placement cell for student recruitment. Government College of Engineering, Keonjhar

The Government College of Engineering in Keonjhar, Odisha, established in 1995, is a respected institution affiliated with Biju Patnaik University of Technology. It offers a total of 14 full-time undergraduate B.Tech degree programs across seven engineering disciplines: Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, Mineral Engineering, and Mining Engineering.

Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology (IGIT), Sarang

The Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology (IGIT), Sarang was established in 1982 by the government of Odisha, originally named Odisha College of Engineering (OCE) and managed directly by the government. 

Before that, since 1981, the institution operated as Modern Polytechnic (MPT), offering diploma courses in civil, electrical, mechanical, and mining survey engineering. In 1987, OCE and MPT merged and were renamed IGIT, Sarang, with management transferred to an autonomous society.

Parala Maharaja Engineering College, Berhampur

Parala Maharaja Engineering College (PMEC) is the first government engineering college established in southern Odisha. It was founded in 2009 and is named after King Krushna Chandra Gajapati, who is recognized as the architect of modern Odisha. Originally a constituent college of Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), the college gained autonomous status in January 2021. 

The Government of Odisha recognizes PMEC as a prestigious institution and supports its development as a center of excellence. The college offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate engineering programs and is equipped with modern facilities and research centers. Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Sambalpur

Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT) in Sambalpur, Odisha, was originally established in August 1956 as the University College of Engineering (UCE), Burla, under the Government of Odisha. It is the oldest engineering college in Odisha and was initially set up to provide skilled engineers—especially in mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering—to support the nearby Hirakud Dam project. The foundation was laid by India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, and the first batch had 20 students across those three engineering branches.

Initially functioning as a constituent college of Utkal University, the college later came under Sambalpur University and then Biju Patnaik University of Technology. In 2009, it was converted into an independent state university named after Veer Surendra Sai, a notable Indian freedom fighter. The university is recognized by both the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and it is authorized to award various undergraduate, postgraduate, M.Phil., and doctoral degrees. The campus covers around 300 acres near the foothills of the Hirakud Dam.

Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology, Bhubaneswar

The Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology (CIPET) in Bhubaneswar, established in 1986, is a well-known institute located in Odisha. It offers a variety of programs, including full-time degrees and diplomas across 11 courses. These include undergraduate programs such as B.Tech in Plastics Technology and Manufacturing Technology, diplomas in Plastics Mould Technology and Plastics Technology, as well as postgraduate courses like M.Tech in Plastics Engineering and Polymer Nano-Technology, M.Sc. in Polymer Science and Material Science & Engineering, and postgraduate diplomas in Plastics Processing & Testing and Plastics Mould Design.

The institute's courses are recognized and approved by authoritative bodies like AICTE and are affiliated with Biju Patnaik University of Technology and Utkal University. 

Admissions for B.Tech programs are mainly through JEE (Main), and other courses through CIPET-JEE with eligibility criteria based on relevant qualifications.

The candidate can choose the courses from M.Sc., PG Diploma, UG Diploma, B.E./B.
