WBJEE Exam Pattern 2026

WBJEE Exam Pattern 2026 is structured to test knowledge and reasoning ability in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry areas to gain admission and a better understanding of engineering, engineering technology or architecture in West Bengal. The WBJEE Exam consists of two papers, Paper 1 for Mathematics and Paper 2 for Physics and Chemistry. Paper 1 will be mathematics; Paper 2 will be Physics and Chemistry combined.

WBJEE Syllabus 2026

The two papers will have 2 hours each, accounting for a total of 4 hours of testing. The sequence of the exam is Paper 1, then Paper 2. Both papers consist of three categories based on difficulty level and marking guidelines - Categories 1 and 2 will have only one correct answer with negative marking for incorrect answers, whereas Category 3 has no negative marking. There is a total of 155 questions and 200 marks. The WBJEE Exam 2026 will be available in English and Bengali.

WBJEE Exam Pattern 2026 Overview

WBJEE (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination) 2026 is held in offline mode (pen & paper mode) for undergraduate engineering, pharmacy and architecture admissions in West Bengal. The WBJEE would have two papers:

  • Paper 1: Mathematics.

  • Paper 2: Physics and Chemistry (combined).

The papers will last a maximum of 2 hours, giving a total time for the exam of 4 hours. Candidates can take the exam in either English or Bengali. The exam pattern of WBJEE 2026 assesses problem-solving, understanding of concepts, and analytical skills through the three subjects.
