APPSC PGT Eligibility

To apply for APPSC PGT Recruitment 2025, candidates must:

• Hold a 2nd Class Master’s Degree in the concerned subject from a recognized university.

• Possess a B.Ed. degree.

• Final year/semester Master's degree students can apply but must produce their passing certificate by the interview date.

• Age: General category – born on or after 01/01/1989; APST – on or after 01/01/1984. PwBD and the regular govt. Servants may claim age relaxations as per the rules.

APPSC PGT Exam Date 2025

The APPSC PGT Exam Date 2025 for the mains exam is 27th and 28th of November 2025. If the application volume is high and the commission sees sufficient registration, it will conduct a Recruitment Test (objective type), which will take place on October 12th, 2025. Both exams will be offline in the centres at Itanagar, Naharlagun/Nirjuli/Doimukh, Ziro, and Namsai. Admit cards containing details regarding the exam centre will be uploaded on the official site prior to the exam date.

Filling the APPSC PGT 2025 Application Form is compulsory for all candidates:

• Register via the APPSC One Time Registration (OTR) portal.

• Use the same OTR ID and password to access the application form.

• Submit all necessary details, upload documents (photo, signature, degree certificates, age proof, category certificates), and pay the application fee—₹150 for APST and ₹200 for non-APST candidates. PwBD candidates are exempt.

• The last date for application is 08 September 2025, 1:00 PM.

The APPSC PGT syllabus comprises mainly two parts:

• General Subjects: This includes General Knowledge, General English, Current Affairs, History of India and Arunachal Pradesh, Indian Polity, Economy, and related topics.

• Concerned Subjects: Based on the candidate’s postgraduate subject. Subjects include Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Economics, Geography, Political Science, History, Hindi, English, Commerce, Agriculture, Horticulture, etc.

Candidates are expected to have in-depth knowledge of their opted subject along with general awareness and teaching aptitude.

APPSC PGT 2025 Exam Pattern

The APPSC PGT 2025 exam pattern typically involves a written examination followed by an interview. The written test is divided into multiple papers covering general awareness, pedagogy, and the concerned postgraduate subject. Generally, the total written exam carries around 400 marks, with an additional 50 marks for the viva-voce (interview).

APPSC PGT 2025 Selection Process

The APPSC PGT 2025 selection process involves multiple stages to ensure a comprehensive evaluation of candidates for the Post Graduate Teacher posts in Arunachal Pradesh. Here is the detailed process:

• Written Examination (Mains): The written exam carries a total of 450 marks divided across three papers:

  • General English, General Studies, Aptitude & Pedagogy (Objective) – 150 marks

  • Concerned Subject Paper I (Descriptive) – 150 marks

  • Concerned Subject Paper II (Descriptive) – 150 marks

• Viva-Voce (Interview) and Classroom Teaching: This stage is conducted after the written exam and carries 50 marks. It evaluates the candidate's teaching skills, personality, and subject knowledge.
