KTET 2026 Notification Out: Pareeksha Bhavan, Kerala has released the KTET 2026 Notification on the official website. KTET stands for Kerala Teacher Eligibility Test. The exam checks whether candidates are eligible to teach students at different school levels in Kerala. 

The exam is held for four categories based on the teaching level. Candidates who want to become teachers in Kerala government or aided schools can apply for the suitable KTET category. Interested candidates can submit their application from September 23 to October 3, 2026 on the official website.

KTET 2026 Exam Date

KTET 2026 Exam Date has been announced in the official notice. The exam will be organised from November 14 and 15, 2026. 

KTET Apply Online 2026

The KTET Apply Online 2026 process is conducted through the official website. Candidates must fill out the application form online. Paper applications and certificates should not be sent to Pareeksha Bhavan by post. Apply online from September 23, 2026 to October 3, 2026. Candidates applying for more than one category can use a single KTET Application Form. However, the application fee must be paid separately for each category.

How to Apply for KTET 2026?

Candidates can follow these steps to complete the KTET application form:

1. Visit the official website, ktet.kerala.gov.in.

2. Click on the New Registration link.

3. Select the category or categories to apply for.

4. Enter personal details such as name, date of birth, address, and qualification.

5. Upload a clear photograph as per the given instructions.

6. Select a Photo Identity Card such as Aadhaar, Voter ID, or PAN and enter its number.

7. Check all details carefully using the edit option.

8. Click on Final Confirmation.

9. Pay the application fee through SBI e-Pay using Net Banking, Debit Card, or Credit Card.

10. Download and print the final application form for future use.

KTET Application Fees 2026

The application fee for KTET 2026 is given below:

• General/OBC Candidates: ₹500 per category

• SC/ST/Differently-Abled Candidates: ₹250 per category

Candidates applying for more than one category have to pay the fee separately for each category.

KTET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the required educational qualifications for the selected category. It is covered in the KTET 2026 Eligibility.

Category 1: Lower Primary Classes 1 to 5

Candidates should have Higher Secondary/12th qualification with at least 45% marks along with a 2-year TTC, D.Ed, or D.El.Ed qualification.

Category 2: Upper Primary Classes 6 to 8

Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree such as BA, B.Sc, or B.Com with D.Ed/D.El.Ed or a B.Ed qualification.

Category 3: High School Classes 9 to 10

Candidates should have a BA, B.Sc, or B.Com degree with at least 45% marks in the relevant subject along with a B.Ed degree.

Category 4: Special Subjects and Languages

Candidates should have the required certificate, diploma, or degree in teaching for languages such as Arabic, Hindi, Sanskrit, and Urdu or for special subjects such as Art, Craft, and Physical Education.

Note: There is no upper age limit to appear for the KTET exam.

KTET 2026 Syllabus

KTET syllabus is prepared by SCERT Kerala. Candidates need to follow the KTET syllabus topics carefully to begin with the exam preparation. 

• Category 1: Child Development and Pedagogy, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, Language 1, and Language 2.

• Category 2: Child Development and Pedagogy, Science and Mathematics or Social Science, Language 1, and Language 2.

• Category 3: Adolescent Psychology, Learning Theories and Teaching Aptitude, Language 1, and subject-specific pedagogy and content.

• Category 4: Child Development, Pedagogy and Teacher Aptitude, Language 1, and subject-specific content.

KTET 2026 Exam Pattern

The KTET exam consists of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The exam pattern is as follows:

• Total Questions: 150

• Total Marks: 150

• Exam Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes

• Marks for Each Correct Answer: 1 mark

• Negative Marking: No negative marking

KTET Minimum Qualifying Marks

Candidates must score the minimum passing marks based on their category to clear the exam.

• General Category: 60% (90 out of 150 marks)

• SC / ST / OBC / OEC Category: 55% (82 out of 150 marks)

• PH (Differently-Abled) Category: 50% (75 out of 150 marks)

KTET 2026 Admit Card

KTET 2026 Admit Card will be issued to the candidates on November 4, 2026. Candidates can visit the official website to download the call letter. The hall ticket includes the information related to the exam date, candidate’s information, shift timing, centre name, and address.
