• Candidates who are pursuing studies in the final year of post-graduation or in the third/fourth semester of post-graduation or its equivalent, under any university established by an Act of Parliament or by a State Legislature, or by an institution deemed to be a university or an institution of national importance under the provisions of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 (Notification No. 03 of 1956), shall be eligible.
• For candidates belonging to the unreserved category, a minimum of 55 percent marks in the post-graduation degree is required, while for reserved categories (only Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes excluding creamy layer, and Persons with Disabilities belonging to Madhya Pradesh), a minimum of 50 percent marks is necessary.
• Candidates from the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category should have obtained a minimum of 55 percent marks in the post-graduation degree, as per the guidelines of the UGC, similar to candidates from the unreserved category.
• Candidates enrolled in the final year of post-graduation or in the third/fourth semester of post-graduation, whose final year examination results have not been declared, or whose results are awaited, or whose results are withheld, are eligible to appear for the examination.
• Even if eligible candidates pass the examination, their eligibility certificate will only be considered valid if the state eligibility examination results are declared within two years. Unreserved category candidates must score a minimum of 55 percent marks in the post-graduation degree, while reserved category candidates (only Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes excluding creamy layer, and Persons with Disabilities) must score a minimum of 50 percent marks.
• Candidates holding a Ph.D. degree and whose post-graduation examination was completed by September 19, 1991, will be eligible for a 5 percent relaxation in academic eligibility (from 55 percent to 50 percent).
• Candidates who have obtained a post-graduation degree, diploma, or certificate from any university in India or abroad must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi, confirming that their degree or diploma is equivalent to a post-graduation degree awarded by an Indian university.

MP SET Eligibility 2024 Reservation Criteria

• Only residents of Madhya Pradesh will be eligible for reservation benefits, including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes (excluding creamy layer), women, EWS, and persons with disabilities.
• Non-creamy layer candidates of Other Backward Classes will be eligible for reservation and other benefits. Residents of Madhya Pradesh belonging to such Other Backward Classes, who fall under the creamy layer, will be considered as unreserved category candidates even if they mention Other Backward Classes in their application form and will not be entitled to reservation benefits.
• Candidates from Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes (excluding creamy layer), women applicants, and persons with disabilities from other states should mention themselves as unreserved in their online application forms.
• Economically weaker section candidates and candidates from other reserved categories should submit the certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format by the deadline set by the Madhya Pradesh government for the financial year.
• Candidates with disabilities from Madhya Pradesh will be eligible for reservation based only on the permanent disability certificate issued by the District Medical Officer, indicating a minimum of 40 percent disability.
• Candidates should note that the beneficiaries of the reservation will be determined as per the guidelines issued by the Department of Social Justice and Disabled Welfare, Vallabh Bhavan, Bhopal, dated November 21, 2022, published in the Madhya Pradesh Gazette No. 597.
