Candidates must have completed their post-graduation from a UGC-recognized university/college.

Minimum marks required:

  • General category: 55% marks

  • Reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwD): 50% marks

Candidates who have cleared the State Eligibility Test (SET) before June 1, 2002, are exempt from taking the UGC NET exam.

UGC NET 2025 Age Limit

JRF (Junior Research Fellowship): Age should not be more than 30 years as of 01st June 2025.

Relaxation:

  • 5 years for OBC-NCL, SC/ST, PwD, Third gender, and women candidates.

  • 5 years for candidates with research experience (maximum of 5 years, subject to conditions).

  • 3 years for candidates with an L.L.M. degree.

  • 5 years for candidates who have served in the armed forces.

Assistant Professor: There is no upper age limit for applying for Assistant Professor.

Admission to Ph.D: There is no upper age limit for applying for Ph.D. admission.

National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the UGC NET Admit Card 2025 on 22nd June 2025 for the June session examinations scheduled from 25th to 29th June 2025. UGC NET 2025 Provisional Answer Key

UGC NET 2025 Provisional Answer Key was officially released by the National Testing Agency on 5th July 2025. This provisional key pertains to the examinations conducted between 25th June and 29th June 2025 across multiple subjects.
