Educational Qualification

  • You must possess a Master's degree in Anthropology or a closely related field such as social, cultural, linguistic, biological, or archaeological studies from a recognized university/institution.

  • Doctorate candidates may be eligible for a 5% aggregate mark reduction if they passed their Master's level test before September 19, 1991 (regardless of when the results were announced), to appear in the NET.

Minimum Marks

  • Depending on the category, a master's program may have varying minimum grades; for instance, OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender requires 50% of the required marks, whilst General/Unreserved/EWS requires 55%.
  • If you are taking the examination the year you graduate with your master's, make sure you can meet the minimum percentage required by the time the results are released.

Age Limit

  • The UGC NET application process does not have an upper age limit for the Assistant Professor position.
  • The age limit for a Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) may be 30 years old.

Nationality

  • You must be a citizen of India.
