  • Doctorate applicants may be eligible for a 5% aggregate mark reduction if they passed their Master's level test before September 19, 1991 (regardless of when the results were announced) and applied to the NET.
Minimum Marks
  • A master's program may demand different minimum grades depending on the category; for example, OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/Third Gender requires 50% of the requisite marks, whereas General/Unreserved/EWS requires 55%.
  • Make sure you can meet the minimal % required by the time the results are revealed if you are taking the exam the year you graduate with your master's.
Age Limit
  • There is no upper age limit for the Assistant Professor position in the UGC NET application process.
  • A Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) may have an age restriction of thirty years.
