Step I: Calculate the number of candidates to be qualified: 6% of the total number of candidates who appeared in NET (both papers) will be eligible for Assistant Professor. Step II: Allocate slots to different categories: The total slots will be allocated to different categories as per the reservation policy of Government of India. The UGC NET Normalization Procedure for multi-shift papers conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Here are the key points:- For multi-shift papers, the raw marks obtained by candidates in different shifts/sessions will be converted to NTA Score (percentile).
- The procedure for calculating NTA Score is available on the NTA website under Normalization procedure based on Percentile Score.
- In cases where a subject test is conducted in multiple shifts, the NTA Score will be calculated corresponding to the raw marks obtained by each candidate. The calculated scores for all shifts/sessions will be merged for further processing.
- If the percentiles for different shifts are dissimilar or unequal, the lowest percentile will be considered as the eligibility cut-off for that category for all candidates (i.e., all shifts).
- For example, if the 40% marks correspond to a percentile score of 78 in Shift 1 and 79 in Shift 2, then all candidates with a percentile score of 78 or above in both shifts will be eligible in the General Category. This principle will be applied to other categories as well to determine eligibility cut-offs.
