Procedure and Criteria for Declaration of WB SET Cut Off 2024

  • Determine the total number of candidates to be qualified for Assistant Professor, which is 6% of the total number of candidates who appeared in both papers of SET.
  • Allocate the total slots to different categories based on the reservation policy of the Government of West Bengal.
  • Calculate the aggregate marks of each candidate in both papers.
  • For the General (Unreserved) and EWS categories, a candidate must have secured at least 40% aggregate marks to be considered eligible for Assistant Professor.
  • For reserved categories (SC, ST, OBC, PWD, and Transgender), a candidate must have secured at least 35% aggregate marks to be considered eligible for Assistant Professor.
  • Derive the number of candidates to be declared qualified in each subject and category by multiplying the number of candidates who have qualified for Eligibility for Assistant Professor in that subject and category, dividing it by the total slots available for that category, and then multiplying it by the total number of candidates who have qualified for Eligibility for Assistant Professor in that category.
  • Determine the subject-wise qualifying cutoffs for each category by calculating the aggregate percentage of the two papers corresponding to the number of slots arrived at.
  • The subject-wise cut-offs for Transgender should be the lowest among those for SC/ST/PWD/OBC/EWS categories in the corresponding subject.
  • The qualifying criteria decided by WBCSC are final and binding.
