UPSC Mains DAF 2025 will be available on the official website of the Union Public Service Commission, ‘upsconline.nic.in’ between 16th June and 25th June, 2025. Starting from this year, candidates will be required to provide limited information in the UPSC Mains DAF form, as the majority of the details are now required at the Prelims application stage itself. Read on to learn more about the updated UPSC Mains DAF 2025 and how to fill it!
The UPSC Civil Services Examination has three stages: Prelims, Mains, and Personality Test. For each stage, candidates are required to fill out an application form with relevant information. In the preliminary stage of the UPSC, basic details such as name, category, date of birth, etc., were asked. However, in 2025, the commission made significant changes in the process by requiring detailed information at Prelims stage itself.
Therefore, from now on, the UPSC Mains Detailed Application Form 2025 will be used for the following purposes:
Confirmation of Mains Examination Participation: Candidates must use the form to confirm their intent to appear for the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2025.
Payment of Examination Fee: The DAF will facilitate submission of the Rs. 200 examination fee (except for exempt categories: female, PwBD, SC, ST).
Scribe and Assistive Support Declaration: Candidates needing support for the Mains Exam must declare their scribe requirements, request for assistive devices, or large font question papers.
Submission of Gazette Notification (If Applicable): Candidates who have changed their names after matriculation or whose name differs across documents must upload the relevant Gazette Notification.
Final Data Confirmation and Corrections: The DAF allows candidates to verify, correct, or update specific information already submitted during the Prelims stage, ensuring accuracy before the Mains.
