Candidates do not need to log in to the UPSC portal to check the result PDF. They only need their examination roll number.
Follow these steps:
Open the official UPSC roll number-wise result PDF.
Allow the PDF to load completely on your device.
On a computer, press Ctrl + F. On a mobile device, tap the search icon in the PDF viewer.
Enter your complete roll number as mentioned on your UPSC Mains e-Admit Card.
Press Enter or tap the search option.
Check whether your roll number appears or gets highlighted in the PDF.
If it appears in the list, you have qualified for the Personality Test, subject to eligibility verification.
Download and save the result PDF for future reference.
Candidates can also follow the detailed instructions in the UPSC Mains Result 2026 checking guide.
If the PDF search does not show your roll number, do not immediately assume that you have not qualified. First, check the following points:
Re-enter the roll number exactly as printed on your Mains e-Admit Card.
Remove any accidental spaces or additional characters.
Make sure the PDF has loaded completely before searching.
Download the PDF and try searching again using another PDF viewer.
Open the official name-wise result PDF and check your name.
If needed, scroll through the document manually to verify the entry.
Always confirm your result using the official UPSC PDFs rather than screenshots or unofficial lists.
The result PDF contains the roll numbers and names of candidates shortlisted for the Personality Test. A total of 2,526 candidates have qualified for the interview stage.
However, this is not the final selection list. It only confirms qualification in the written examination for the next stage. The candidature of shortlisted candidates remains provisional until their eligibility is verified.
The result PDF does not provide individual Mains marks, category-wise cut-offs or final service allocation. Candidates can read How Many Candidates Cleared UPSC Mains 2026? for more details about the shortlisted candidates.
Candidates whose roll numbers appear in the result list should complete the next formalities within the prescribed deadlines.
