UPSC Prelims Question Paper 2023

The UPSC Prelims is the first stage of the exam, which screens candidates for the main stage. Last year, the prelims exam was organised in two shifts on May 28, 2023 . Paper I which is General Studies I and has 100 questions in total was held in the morning session. On the other hand, Paper II i.e. Civil Service Aptitude Test (CSAT) has 80 questions and was conducted in the afternoon session. The duration to complete the question paper was 2 hours for both. UPSC Mains Question Paper 2023

After clearing the cut off for the UPSC prelims candidates phase, the next hurdle is UPSC Mains. There are 9 descriptive-type papers in the main exam. While English Language Paper and Indian Language Papers are simply qualifying in nature with criteria of 25% marks, the remaining papers are considered for the final merit list. The objective of this stage is to assess the analytical skills of candidates and their ability to articulate thoughts.
