History of World Youth Skills Day

To celebrate this anniversary, several special activities are planned for World Youth Skills Day 2025, including:

• High-level panel discussions will be hosted both virtually and in person at the Learning Planet Institute in Paris and the UN Headquarters in New York, bringing together UN officials, policymakers, educators, and youth leaders.

• A regional event session and virtual forum titled "Rewiring the Future: How AI Can Empower Girls and Youth for the Green Transition in Asia-Pacific"

This anniversary serves as a reminder that empowering youth is not a one-time action but a continuous process. Celebrating ten years of progress also gives the world a chance to honour those who have worked tirelessly to make skill development accessible to all.

Scheme for Youth Skill Development in India

• Skill India Mission: Launched in 2015, this flagship scheme aims to train over 40 crore people in various skills by 2025. It includes both short-term and long-term training programs.
