NEET Exam Center Checklist: What to Carry and Not to Carry

NEET Exam Center Checklist: NEET exam is held annually by the National Testing Agency (NTA) to select students for the MBBS course. NTA ensures transparent and efficient conduction of NEET UG by instructing certain guidelines that must be followed by all candidates. If any candidate fails to adhere to these instructions or carry prohibited item, then his or her candidature might be canceled.

Years of hard work of sincere candidates might be wasted due to one silly mistake. Therefore, candidates should be aware of what to carry and not to carry to the NEET exam center. It is advised to make a checklist of things that are a must on the NEET exam day to avoid any hassle.

NEET Exam Center Checklist

NEET exam center checklist details the essential items that must be carried out on the exam day. NEET UG 2024 will be organized after a few months and students will be prepared with almost every aspect of the exam related to solving the question papers. NEET preparation tips usually highlight the strategy before and on the exam day. However, being aware of the NEET exam center checklist is equally important to avoid any inconvenience on the exam day. NEET exam center checklist can be divided into two parts, one is dress code and the other is items to be carried on exam day. NEET exam dress code is defined by NTA for both male and female aspirants. Candidates should dress according to the guidelines set by NTA. Male candidates should wear simple pants, slippers, and shirts of light color. Similarly, female candidates should dress simply and avoid any fancy things.

What to Carry to the NEET Exam Center

The second part of the NEET exam center checklist is things that must be carried out on the exam day. It is important to keep essential items ready one day before the exam to avoid any challenges on the exam day. Most candidates are aware that they must carry the NEET UG admit card on the exam day. Apart from the admit card here is the list of things that the candidates need to carry to the NEET exam center:
  • Printed Copy Of Admit Card: Candidates must have a printed copy of their admit card or hall ticket as they won’t be allowed to enter the NEET exam hall without it.
  • Passport-size Photograph: Candidates should carry at least two latest passport-size photographs similar to one uploaded during the NEET application form submission.
  • Valid ID Proof: An identity proof must be carried either from an Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, or Driving license.
  • Hand Sanitizer: Candidates are allowed to carry personal hand sanitizers due to COVID-19 guidelines.
  • Transparent Water Bottle: Water bottle is allowed in certain cases inside the NEET UG exam hall but they must be transparent.
  • Face Mask: After COVID it has become mandatory to carry a face mask on the exam day. Candidates will be provided a separate one in the exam hall but for entry purposes, the face mask is a must.

What Not to Carry to NEET Exam Center

It is equally important to pay attention to the items that are prohibited at the NEET exam center. Candidates should ensure that they are not carrying any banned material to the exam center of NEET UG. The National Testing Agency (NTA) regularly specifies the list of items that are barred in the exam hall. Here is the list of what not to carry to the NEET exam center:
  • Pen and Stationery: Several items like geometry boxes, pencils, study notes, blank scales, paper, writing pads, erasers, sharpeners,  log tables, and pens are not permitted inside the NEET exam hall.
  • Electronic Items : Candidates are strictly not allowed to carry any banned electronic device including calculators, mobile phones, pen drives, Bluetooth, earphones, pagers, microphones, and smartwatches.
  • Eatable Items: Any eatable be they opened or packed are not allowed inside the exam centre. Only diabetic patients can carry a few eatable but with permission.
  • Fancy Things: Items like goggles, belts, hairpins, caps, gold accessories, hair bands, amulets, and scarves are prohibited at the NEET exam center.
To sum up, candidates should avoid carrying anything other than what is mentioned in the NEET admit card on the exam day.

NEET Exam Day Guidelines

NEET exam day guidelines are issued by NTA in advance to all candidates. Students should ensure that they strictly follow the exam day guidelines to avoid any unnecessary problems. They must reach the NEET exam center at least one hour before the reporting time mentioned in their NEET admit card. Here are the NEET exam day guidelines for students:
