SSC JE Sliding Notice 2026 Out: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the SSC JE Sliding Notice 2026 on the official website. Candidates can follow the changes as per the SSC notification mentioned on the portal. It is regarding the sliding process and post-allotment based on the result announcement. The purpose is to streamline the recruitment process and utilise the available vacancies for Junior Engineer posts.
It is possible that the post allocation can be done on a merit basis. Therefore, the deserving candidates can get the posts in the JE department only on the marks scored in the different rounds designed for selecting candidates. SSC wants to ensure that there is no delay in providing the posts to the suitable candidates, depending on the department available in the recruitment drive.
The commission has released the SSC Eastern Region website (Kolkata). The notice is regarding the JE posts. It refers to the First Round of Tentative Allocation (FRTA). Candidates can check the official notice to know the JE vacancies to be filled within the time.
The SSC has reformed its recruitment approach to address previous inefficiencies. The key differences between the old and new systems are outlined below:
|
Feature |
Old Process |
New Process (Sliding/Allotment) |
|---|---|---|
|
Initial Allotment |
Offer letters sent to all selected candidates (e.g., 1700). |
Only candidates equal to the number of posts are shortlisted initially. |
|
Document Verification |
Many candidates did not appear for Document Verification (DV), often due to selection in other exams (e.g., GATE PSUs, State AEs). |
Shortlisted candidates are required to report for Document Verification and the Sliding Process at their respective regional offices. |
|
Vacant Seats |
Resulted in vacant seats (e.g., 200 out of 1700) that were transferred to the next year's recruitment cycle. |
Vacant seats arising from candidates who do not join are filled from the current result cycle. They are not transferred to the next year. |
|
Opportunity for Others |
Deserving candidates with slightly lower ranks often missed opportunities in the current cycle. |
Maximises vacancy utilisation and provides an advantage to candidates who might have been just outside the initial selection range. |
SSC Junior Engineer allotment possibility has been decided based on the candidates who choose the posts based on their preference. The allotment list is provided depending on the first and second allotments to complete the recruitment process. All the vacancies are used in the JE posts.
Official Website: The official website for logging into the sliding process is ssc.gen.in.
The window to choose your venue, date, and slot for the sliding process will be from July 12, 2026, 5 PM to July 14, 2026, 5 PM.
