Sumit has secured AIR 1 in PGCIL DT 2026 after a long preparation journey that included several setbacks and multiple competitive exams. He had also secured selection in RRB JE from the Kolkata Zone before achieving this result.
His journey shows the importance of patience, strong concepts, regular practice, and revision. He also used PW courses to strengthen his technical preparation and prepare for different engineering exams together.
Sumit did not clear several exams at the beginning of his preparation. Instead of giving up, he continued preparing and waited for his efforts to show results.
“Patience rakhna to bahut zaroori hai sir kyunki maine pehle bhi kaha hai sabko ki koi bhi exam turant to nahi niklega. Aapko iske liye bahut patience rakhna padega. Taiyari lambi rakhni padegi.”
His journey gradually changed as he started clearing more exams. Along with PGCIL DT, he mentioned exams such as DRDO, NPCIL, RRB JE, and HPCL during the conversation.
Sumit had initially faced problems with technical subjects and question practice. He took PW courses, followed the guidance from the teachers, and worked on his concepts and practice.
“Sir pichhle saal hi maine ek course liya tha jab CBT 1 hua tha 204 wala, to hi maine socha ki ek course le lete hain. To us samay hi maine technical ek baar padh liya tha aap sabhi se to sir us samay technical achha ho gaya tha.”
He later took another PW course for CBT 2 and revised the technical subjects again. According to Sumit, this revision helped him strengthen his preparation and contributed to his performance across multiple exams.
“Bhat jaise hi aap logon ne samjhaya, guide kiya, karne ko bola, vaise hi maine kiya aur baad mein dekha ki saare question hi ban rahe hain. Utne hard nahi hain.”
After his technical preparation had paused for some time, Sumit noticed that his confidence had gone down. The CBT 2 course gave him an opportunity to study the technical subjects again and revise the concepts.
“CBT Two mein wapas se course karne ke baad wapas se saari cheezein padhi. Revision ho gaya. Bahut ek achha matlab wo CBT Two course jo revision tha sir shayad wahi ek main factor tha mere itne saare exams nikalne ka.”
The repeated revision helped him become more comfortable with technical questions. He also realised that strong concepts and regular practice could make difficult-looking questions manageable.
Sumit did not treat every competitive exam as a completely separate preparation journey. He focused on the common core subjects and adjusted his preparation according to the additional requirements of each exam.
“Sir main jo core subjects hain hamare wo to saare hi exams ke liye same rehte hain. Ho sakta hai thoda bahut points add upar neeche ho sakte hain. To humein sir yahi karna chahiye ki poora syllabus ko hi achhe se padhna chahiye.”
He also focused on solving questions of different PGCIL DT Difficulty Levels. For non-technical sections, he made separate time in his daily schedule while continuing his technical preparation.
Sumit believed that practising only easy questions could limit preparation for tougher papers. He therefore suggested solving questions from a higher difficulty level as well.
“Koshish karna chahiye ki achhe level ke questions hum laga paye. Achhe exams ke questions, kyunki sir agar hum easy questions lagayenge to easy question to ban hi jayenge. Agar hum hard questions lagayenge to phir wo bhi hamare liye ek positive point rahega.”
This approach helped him prepare for papers with different difficulty levels. He also continued practising non-technical subjects whenever an exam required them.
Sumit eventually converted his long preparation into a major result by securing AIR 1 in PGCIL DT 2026. He had also performed well in RRB JE and other technical recruitment exams during this phase.
“Bahut achha lag raha hai sir. Waise bhi JE bhi ho gaya aur abhi PGC mein bhi bahut achhe marks the. To lagta hi ho jayega. But apne reason se rank one leke aana bahut hi achha lag raha hai.”
His PGCIL result came after consistent preparation, revision, question practice, and experience from several competitive exams.
Sumit believes that aspirants should not expect immediate success from every exam. He advised candidates to stay patient, continue their preparation, and trust the process.
“Agar koi sach achhe se mehnat karega sir to usko uske mehnat ka phal zaroor milega chahe ek exam mein, do exam mein, teen exam hai, aaram se wo qualify ho jayengi.”
His journey from facing repeated setbacks to securing AIR 1 in PGCIL DT shows how consistent preparation and patience can help aspirants improve their performance across competitive exams.
Sumit’s PGCIL DT journey included several examinations, setbacks and repeated work on his technical preparation. He used PW courses to study and revise technical subjects, practised questions of different difficulty levels and carried his core-subject preparation across multiple recruitment exams.
After securing selection in RRB JE and appearing for other technical examinations, Sumit eventually secured AIR 1 in PGCIL DT 2026. His experience reflects a preparation process built around continued revision, question practice and patience across multiple attempts.
