1. Online Examination

Exam Pattern :

Sections :

• Reasoning Ability : 50 questions for 50 marks
• English Language : 50 questions for 50 marks
• Quantitative Aptitude : 50 questions for 50 marks
• General Awareness (with a focus on banking) : 50 questions for 50 marks

Total Questions : 200 Total Marks : 200 Duration : 2 hours (120 minutes)

Marking Scheme :

• 1 mark for each correct answer.
• 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer (negative marking).

Mode : The examination is conducted online and is objective. It tests the candidate's skills in reasoning, English language proficiency, quantitative aptitude, and general awareness.

Qualifying Criteria :

• Candidates must achieve the minimum cut-off marks in each section to qualify for the next stage.
• The cut-off is determined based on the overall performance in the online examination across all test centers.

Descriptive Test (English Language)

Format :

• Type : Descriptive Test involving essay-type questions and short notes.
• Questions : 2 questions carrying a total of 25 marks.
• Duration : 30 minutes

Objective : To evaluate the candidate’s written communication skills in English, including the ability to express thoughts clearly and cohesively.

2. Interview

Format :

• Candidates who qualify in the online test are called for a personal interview.
• Location : The interview will be held at the Bank’s Head Office in Mangaluru or any other location chosen by the Bank.

Marks : The interview carries 50 marks.

Objective : To assess the candidate’s personality, communication skills, general awareness, and suitability for the role of Probationary Officer.

3. Final Selection

Merit List : A merit list is prepared based on the candidate’s performance in both the Online Test and the Interview.

Weightage :

• Online Test: 80% weightage.
• Interview: 20% weightage.

Final Decision : Candidates are selected based on their total marks obtained in both stages.

Training : Selected candidates undergo an ‘Induction Training Programme’ at the Bank’s training college in Mangaluru or another location as chosen by the Bank. The training duration and curriculum may vary but will include both theoretical and practical aspects relevant to the banking sector.

4. Probation Period

• Duration : One year of probation.
• Objective : To evaluate the candidate’s performance and suitability for the role of a Probationary Officer.
• Confirmation : After completing the probation period and induction training, candidates may be confirmed as permanent employees according to the Bank’s rules.
