- The Institute reimburses one-way economy class airfare for travel for new recruits joining from abroad, along with their immediate family, and provides a relocation allowance of up to a maximum of Rs. 1,50,000/- or actual expenses, whichever is less. Recipients must serve the Institute for a minimum period of 3 years.
- New recruits joining from within India receive reimbursement of one-way economy class airfare for travel, along with their immediate family, and a relocation allowance of up to a maximum of Rs. 1,10,000/- or actual expenses, whichever is less, subject to the condition of serving the Institute for a minimum period of 3 years.
- Faculty members may receive a Faculty Start-up Grant of up to Rs. 22.50 lakhs after a review of proposals for carrying out research.
- Every member of the faculty is eligible for a Cumulative Professional Development Allowance (CPDA) of Rs. 3 lakhs for every block period of 3 years (Rupees one lakh per year) on a reimbursable basis. This allowance is intended for expenses related to participation in national and international conferences, payment of membership fees for professional bodies, and contingent expenses.
- Faculty members have no limit on attendance at International Conferences without Institute financial assistance, provided it does not affect their academic work.
- Flexible Sabbatical Leave facilities are available for collaborating with other researchers and industry. Permanent faculty positions are open to Indian Nationals, Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), and Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), with the appointment of foreign nationals permissible for fixed periods on a contract basis.
