- A five percent aggregate mark relaxation is granted to PhD holders who finished the Master's degree exam by September 19, 1991, in exchange for their participation in the JK SET physical science exam.
- Candidates in the transgender category are entitled to the same age and fee concessions as those in the SC, ST, and PwD categories.
- Applicants who passed the CSIR NET/UGC NET test prior to 1989 are not required to take the JK SET exam.
