General candidates need to secure a minimum of 55% marks, while SC/SC(A)/ST/PwD/Third Gender category candidates require 50%.
- Provisional Candidates : Those who are yet to complete their Master's degree or are currently pursuing it can apply provisionally. They must finish their degree within two years from the date of the TN SET result with the required percentage of marks.
- Ph.D. Holders : Candidates with a Ph.D. degree who completed their Master's Level examination by September 19, 1991, are eligible for a 5% relaxation in aggregate marks.
- F oreign University Qualifications : Individuals with post-graduate diplomas or certificates from foreign universities must ensure the equivalence of their qualifications with Master's degrees of recognized Indian universities from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.
