CPET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for CPET are primarily based on the candidate’s educational qualifications, domicile, and performance in the entrance examination. The students must check their eligibility for the CPET exam before applying.
  • Educational Qualification: Students must have acquired 45% marks in graduation to apply for Ancient Indian History, Culture, and Archeology (AIHCA), while for SC/ST candidates it is 40%.
  • Nationality: The Candidate must have Indian nationality to be eligible for the exam.
  • Age Limit: There is no upper age limit for the CPET.
  • Residency: The Candidates must be residents of the State of Odisha to be eligible to appear for the CPET exams. However, there are also different categories through which we can apply, such as AIC (All India Category).

CPET 2023 Syllabus

The CPET syllabus has been classified into seven different regions- General Knowledge and Comprehension, General Odia knowledge and comprehension, general knowledge and current affairs, Logical and Analytical Reasoning, Physical Science and Bioscience, History, Geography, and Political Science, and the Basic Computer Library. CPET 2023 Exam Pattern

The multiple-choice questions in the CPET Exam will be administered offline. It will be an OMR-based paper in 2023.
  • Each paper is 90 minutes long.
  • The exam will have a total of 70 questions. Each question carries one mark.
  • 40 questions will be from the Core Subjects and 30 from the elective subjects of the same paper.
  • During the exam, there is no deductible scoring. Hence, for a wrong answer, there will be no negative marking.
  • Also, for unattempted answers, candidates will not get any marks.

The fees vary as per category; in General, it's Rs. 500; for SC/ST, it's Rs. 300; and the extra fee for each Additional Subject is Rs. 200.

CPET 2023: How to Fill Out the Application Form

Candidates must fill out the CPET form carefully, as once submitted, it is hard to change or modify the details. If the official documentation is mismatched, the candidate’s application form will be rejected. Follow these steps to fill out the application form for CPET in 2023:
  • Visit the official website of SANS and register the candidate by providing the candidate’s basic details, such as name, email ID, mobile number, etc.
  • After registering, candidates will receive a login ID and password at their registered email address and mobile number.
  • They are required to be used by applicants in order to access their application portal and complete their application forms with their contact, academic, and personal information.
  • Make your exam selections for the venue, medium, and subjects.
  • Upload scanned images of the candidate's photo and signature in accordance with the specifications. The photograph must be recent and clear, and the signature must be written in black ink on white paper.
  • Use a debit card, credit card, net banking, UPI, or Paytm to make the application payment online. For general, OBC, and EWS candidates, the application fee is Rs. 500; for SC, ST, and PWD candidates, it is Rs. 200.
  • The application form should be printed out and submitted. The candidate will need it later. After successfully submitting the form, the applicant will also receive a confirmation page on their email address.

CPET 2023 Admit Card

The CPET Admit Card can be downloaded by candidates by visiting the official website and entering their registration number and password. Important information like the date, time, location, and others are included on the CPET Admit Card. Candidates must arrive at the testing center with a printed copy of their admit card and a legitimate photo ID.

CPET Valid ID Proofs

Candidates need to carry some IDs while going to the exam center on exam day. The valid ID proofs for CPET are:
  • Any one of the original and valid photo identification proofs issued by the government- (PAN/Aadhar/Driver’s License/E-Aadhar/Ration Card)
  • The name on the Photo identification must match the name shown on the admission card.
  • If the name has been changed due to events such as marriage, candidates must show the relevant documents at the time of the exam.
  • The photo identification should not be expired and should be clearly visible.

CPET Merit List 2023

Online announcement of the CPET 2023 Merit List The merit list will be published by the Department of Higher Education in Odisha. the candidates whose names are on the CPET Merit List 2023 are those who have passed the entrance exam. The subject-wise merit list and state-wide merit list will be released separately. The state-wise CPET Merit List 2023 will be calculated on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying exam (30%) and scores in the entrance exam (70%).
