The University Grants Commission (UGC) has introduced significant changes in CUET UG 2025, affecting the exam mode, cuet subjects, question patterns, and duration. These modifications aim to streamline the examination process and enhance the overall efficiency of the admission system.

1. Mode of Examination :

 Fully Online in CUET UG 2025

  • CUET UG 2024: Conducted in a hybrid mode, including Computer-Based Test (CBT) and Pen & Paper mode for certain subjects.

  • CUET UG 2025: Completely shifted to CBT mode, meaning all exams will be conducted online.

2. Reduction in the Number of Subjects

3. Changes in Subject Selection Rules

  • CUET UG 2024: Candidates could select up to 6 subjects.

  • CUET UG 2025: Candidates can select only 5 subjects.

  • CUET UG 2024: Subject selection was restricted based on the Class 12th stream.

  • CUET UG 2025: Students can now choose any subject, regardless of their Class 12th subjects.

This gives students more flexibility in choosing their preferred subjects, even if they were not part of their Class 12 curriculum.

4. Removal of 20 Foreign Language Subjects

  • CUET UG 2024 : Included 20 foreign languages (French, Spanish, German, Persian, etc.).

  • CUET UG 2025 : All foreign languages have been removed.

Now, admissions for these language courses will be based on the General Aptitude Test score.
