CUET UG 2025: Major Changes Announced by UGC

With the introduction of the new CUET UG 2025 portal, the UGC has also implemented several significant exam-related changes:

• Mode of Exam – The exam will now be conducted only in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode, replacing the previous hybrid format.

• Reduction in Subjects – The number of domain-specific subjects has been reduced from 29 to 23.

• Limited Language Choices – The language test will now be available in only 13 languages (previously 33 languages).

• No Optional Questions – The new format eliminates optional questions, making all questions mandatory.

• Standardized Exam Duration – Each subject test will have a uniform duration of 60 minutes.

• General Aptitude Test (GAT) for Dropped Subjects – Students applying for subjects like Entrepreneurship, Legal Studies, Tourism, and Engineering Graphics will now have to appear for the GAT section instead of subject-specific tests.
