Army AFMS Medical Officer Tenure
The initial tenure of a Medical Officer is five years. AFMS authorities can extend it upto to a second time for upto nine years. Army AFMS Medical Officers need to serve a four-year term for the first time and a five-year term for the second time in the job role. Ex-AMC candidates who retired after completing 10 years of service are ineligible to apply. Experienced candidates applying for Medical Officer posts should apply within one year after being released from their duties. A Medical Officer can get a permanent commission. It can happen after completing two years of service. There are three chances given to the officers to qualify for the departmental exam. Medical Officer SSC applying for permanent commission should not be more than 40 years of age.
