Candidates selected for SSC Officer roles in the Indian Navy are initially appointed for 12 years, which is extendable by an additional 2 years based on service requirements, performance, and medical eligibility.
Officers will be inducted as sub-lieutenants upon successful completion of medical exams.
Unmarried candidates are eligible for training. If a candidate marries during training, they will be discharged and required to refund the expenses incurred by the government.
Officers who resign during initial training must be refunded the entire training cost and other government expenses.
Candidates failing flying training (Pilot/NAOO) will not be absorbed into the service.
Probation for SSC (NAIC) Officers: 3 years
Probation for Other Branches: 2 years
The probation period starts from the date of appointment as Sub Lieutenant.
Officers not meeting performance expectations may be discharged at any stage during probation.
