How PW’s Crash Course Helped Abhijeet Jayesh Bhalerao Secure UCEED AIR 50

For Abhijeet Jayesh Bhalerao, the decision to pursue design came after completing his diploma in 2024. Unlike the conventional engineering route, design aligned with his existing creative strengths and interests. With limited time to prepare and no prior knowledge of UCEED, he explored different preparation options before finding an online course that suited his needs.

His preparation eventually helped him secure AIR 50 in UCEED, with a strategy that placed particular emphasis on improving GAT while continuing to build on his strength in Part B.

How Abhijeet Jayesh Bhalerao Found His Way to UCEED

Abhijeet began preparing for UCEED after discovering the exam only in November, following his diploma. Since engineering was not the direction he wanted to pursue, he researched design entrance exams and decided to explore UCEED.

“So maine isi saal, matlab 2024 mein, mera diploma pass out kiya aur uske baad mujhe UCEED ke baare mein pata hi nahi tha. Mujhe November mein pata chala, maine October se preparation shuru kar di.”

His decision was also connected to his existing interest in creative work. He had a stronger inclination towards design than engineering, which made the field a natural choice for his preparation.

Abhijeet Jayesh Bhalerao’s Focus on GAT and PYQs

Once preparation began, Abhijeet identified GAT as the section where he needed more practice. Since Part B was already one of his stronger areas, he chose to devote more attention to GAT and relied heavily on previous-year questions.

“Problem meri jyadatar GAT part mein hi thi, kyunki Part B to mujhe matlab mera accha hi tha, to GAT pe maine PYQs hi focus kiya.”

This approach gave him a clearer understanding of the exam pattern and the kind of questions he needed to prepare for. Instead of spreading his preparation across too many areas, he focused on the section that required greater improvement while maintaining his strength in Part B.

How PW Helped Abhijeet Jayesh Bhalerao Prepare

Before joining PW, Abhijeet had tried some offline coaching options but found them expensive and not suitable for the kind of preparation he wanted. He then searched for an online alternative and joined PW’s crash-course batch.

“So maine pehle kuch offline coaching bhi try kiye the, par woh expensive the aur matlab usme zyada matlab time pass hi hota tha, learning nahi. To maine online search kiya, to mujhe PW ka batch mila jo crash course tha, to woh join kiya maine.”

The online format allowed Abhijeet to prepare from home while making use of the course for his entrance preparation. He also recalled enjoying the interaction during drawing classes, particularly the opportunity to show his work and receive feedback.

Abhijeet Jayesh Bhalerao’s Way of Handling Low Phases

Like any competitive-exam preparation, Abhijeet’s journey also had moments when he felt low. Instead of forcing himself through the same type of practice, he turned to the section he was more comfortable with.

“So, matlab jab mujhe low feel hota tha, tab main Part B ki practice kar leta tha, kyunki usmein mujhe extra dimaag lagane ki zarurat nahi padti thi.”

This helped him continue studying without making preparation feel like an additional burden during difficult phases. His experience shows how using a stronger area strategically can help maintain momentum when motivation drops.

Abhijeet Jayesh Bhalerao’s Advice for Future UCEED Aspirants

For students preparing for UCEED, Abhijeet recommended identifying the section that needs the most improvement. Since he considered Part B his stronger area, his focus remained on improving GAT, which carries a larger share of the marks according to his interview.

“To main kehna chahunga ki agar Part B bhi accha hai to GAT par focus karein, kyunki GAT mein hi 200 marks hain aur Part B bas 100 marks hai. Agar Part B accha hai to GAT pe zyada improve karna chahiye, aur agar GAT improve ho gaya to Part B is like cherry on the top.”

He also stressed that students should not pursue design merely for an IIT tag. For him, the motivation to become a designer needs to come from a genuine interest in the field.

“Bas koi matlab UCEED isliye prepare karte hain ki IIT ka tag milta hai, to uske liye mat prepare karo. Matlab, agar khud se design pursue karna hai, tabhi karo.”

Abhijeet Jayesh Bhalerao’s UCEED AIR 50 journey reflects a focused preparation process built around identifying strengths, improving weaker areas, and staying connected to his interest in design. From discovering UCEED after his diploma to choosing an online preparation route and using PYQs extensively for GAT, his approach remained practical and targeted. His experience can encourage aspirants to understand why they want to pursue design, assess their preparation honestly, and build their strategy around the areas that need the most attention.
