How PW Student Divya Turned Self-Study and Uncertainty Into a 99.59 Percentile in JEE Main 2026 B.Arch

For many JEE Main aspirants, preparing for B.Arch is a journey filled with uncertainty, practice and continuous improvement. Building confidence while managing weaker areas, distractions and preparation gaps can take time, especially when the journey begins with self-study.

Divya's journey reflects this process. After Class 12, she took a drop year and initially prepared on her own using books, her phone and YouTube. Later, she joined PW's Architecture Creator Pro Batch, worked through her backlog and gradually moved from recorded lectures to live sessions.

Her experience shows how consistent practice, discipline and timely guidance can help an aspirant build confidence during preparation.

How Divya Started Her B.Arch Preparation

After completing Class 12, Divya decided to take a drop year. During her preparation, she focused on self-study and created a routine for at least 7 to 8 hours of self study: She explained:

“Main subah jaldi hi prepare ho jaati thi padhne ke liye, like 9:00 baje main start kar deti thi. Phir lagataar padhti thi aur beech mein break leti thi. Phir after like 12 ya 1:00 baje break, uske baad 3 se 4 tak main karti thi. Main library jaati thi sir, wahan jaakar padhti thi.”

This routine helped Divya maintain consistency in her preparation and manage her study time effectively. Studying at the library also helped her stay focused and avoid distractions.

How Divya Handled Maths and Built Practice

As her preparation progressed, Divya identified the areas where she needed more practice. She considered aptitude one of her stronger areas, while she also had some comfort with drawing. However, she felt that she needed more preparation for the examination.

Maths was comparatively difficult for her because she had not appeared for an examination like this before. Instead of allowing this weakness to stop her preparation, she focused on continuing her studies and making use of the material available to her.

Divya said:

"Mera strong subject to sir aptitude to pehle se hi achha tha aur drawing bhi thodi theek thi but mujhe zyada practice karne ki zarurat thi. According to exam ke liye mujhe zyada preparation karne ki zarurat thi aur maths maths ka main thodi si kamzor thi kyunki maine kabhi aisa JEE exam diya nahi tha."

She then explained the approach she followed:

"To maine bas padhai ki ki ab karte jao karte jao apne aap theek hota jayega jo bhi humein material mil raha hai aur jo bhi hamare paas available hai cheezen uska use karna hai aur usko lagataar karna hai to usse practice banti jaati hai banti jaati hai aur aap theek hote jaate ho."

For Divya, improvement was connected with continuing the process rather than expecting instant results. Regular practice helped her become more comfortable with the areas that initially required additional effort.

How Divya Overcame Fear and Stayed Consistent

Along with academic preparation, Divya also had to deal with uncertainty and fear about her performance. At the beginning, she compared herself with other students and wondered how she would perform.

When asked about her advice for future aspirants, she highlighted the importance of not being afraid.

Divya said:

"Sir strategy to yahi hai ki sabse pehle to daro mat. Main jab thi to main thoda sa bahut zyada dar hi rehti thi ki kaise hoga aur sab bachche itna achha karte hain main kahan reh peeche reh daro mat."

As she continued preparing, her focus shifted towards taking action instead of overthinking the outcome. She advised students to start working and remain committed to their routine.

Her next message was:

"Sabse pehle to ki zyada socho mat aur bas kaam karna karne lag jao aur consistency and hard work bahut zaroori hai. Aapko sirf yeh rakhna hai apni zindagi mein aur discipline ke saath saara kaam karna hai."

She also stressed the importance of following the schedule that a student creates and staying away from distractions.

This approach helped Divya move from uncertainty towards greater confidence in her own preparation.

How PW's Architecture Creator Pro Batch Helped Divya

Divya initially prepared through self-study. She used books, her phone and YouTube and did not know that she could also take structured online preparation.

Her approach changed after she discovered PW's platform and joined the Architecture Creator Pro Batch.

She recalled:

"Pehle main self study karti thi kuch book ke saath phone ke saath YouTube se vagairah vagairah aur phir jab maine aapka app dekha PW Design and Arch aur phir maine search kara aur phir maine batch ko purchase kiya."

Divya joined the batch in August. Since she had already missed some of the classes, her first priority was to complete the backlog.

She said:

"To sabse pehle maine apna backlog niptaaya saare wo lectures dekhe jo recorded the uske baad phir main live session mein bhi aane lagi dheere dheere."

Instead of allowing the missed classes to remain pending, she first watched the recorded lectures and then gradually started attending live sessions. She also mentioned that the teachers guided her during this process.

According to Divya, the additional guidance helped her gain confidence and gradually improve her preparation.

Divya's Result Came Through Consistent Preparation

Divya eventually achieved a strong rank in JEE Main Paper 2 for B.Arch, placing her in a position to pursue her preferred campus. During the interview, her rank was described as being in the under-300 range.

Her result came from a consistent preparation routine. She spent dedicated time on self-study, studied in a focused environment, practised her weaker areas, completed her backlog, and gradually built confidence.

Her journey also shows that preparation does not always begin with complete clarity. Divya initially had limited guidance and uncertainty about how to approach the examination. With continued effort and structured learning, she became more confident about her preparation.

What Future B.Arch Aspirants Can Learn from Divya

Divya's experience offers several practical lessons for students preparing for JEE Main Paper 2:

  • Do not allow fear to stop you from starting.

  • Maintain consistency in your preparation.

  • Give dedicated time to self-study.

  • Practise areas where you need improvement.

  • Use the study material available to you regularly.

  • Create a study environment that helps you stay focused.

  • Complete backlogs instead of leaving them pending.

  • Follow your planned schedule with discipline.

  • Avoid unnecessary distractions.

  • Be patient with the preparation process.

Most importantly, Divya's journey shows that confidence can develop through consistent work. She began her preparation with uncertainty and limited guidance but gradually became more confident as she continued studying and practising.

For future B.Arch aspirants, her message remains simple: "Zyada socho mat aur bas kaam karna karne lag jao" and stay consistent with the preparation process.
