NID Andhra Pradesh Courses 2025: National Institute of Design (NID), Andhra Pradesh, or NID Vijayawada is a public/government design college. The institute was established in September 2015 and offers the Bachelor of Design (B.Des) in three specializations. NID Andhra Pradesh is the first NID to be set up in accordance with the National Design Policy after NID Ahmedabad. The seven NIDs of India include NID Bangalore (Karnataka), Kurukshetra (Haryana), Jorhat (Assam), Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh), and Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh). NID Andhra Pradesh offers only B.Des admission based on NID DAT merit scores. The institute offers 25 seats in all three specializations namely, Communication Design (CD), Industrial Design (ID), and Textile & Apparel Design (TAD), i.e., a total of 75 seats for B.Des design courses. NID Andhra Pradesh Course Admissions
NID Andhra Pradesh course admissions under B.Des design programs are entrance-based. NID Andhra Pradesh offers B.Des program at the UG level for a duration of 4 years in three disciplines in the field of design. Candidates are required to obtain aggregate merit scores in the NID Design Aptitude Test (DAT) (Prelims and Mains). NID DAT entrance exam includes two stages namely, Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Prelims and Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Mains. Candidates will be shortlisted for the NID DAT Mains exam based on the merit scored by the candidates in the NID DAT Prelims exam. Based on the weighted scores obtained by the candidates in NID DAT Prelims and Mains, final admission to NID Andhra Pradesh courses is done. Candidates who clear the prelims and mains of the NID DAT get shortlisted for the NID counselling rounds. Candidates will be allotted seats based on the candidate's category, merit list, and availability of seats under a particular course. For seat confirmation, candidates have to accept the seat allotted to them during counseling, complete the document verification process, and pay the requisite admission fee.
