NID Exam 2025: NID seat allotment 2025 for B.Des and M.Des programs is being conducted in multiple rounds. Round 1 seat allotment for B.Des was held from 27 May to 30 May 2025, and Round 2 commenced on 12 June 2025. Candidates needed to confirm their seats for round 2 by 15 June  2025. The authorities will release the provisional offer letter on 19 June 2025 to the shortlisted candidates of round 2. 

For M.Des, Round 2 seat allotment began on 29 May 2025, with the deadline for fee payment and document upload on 2 June 2025. The National Institute of Design (NID) announced the provisional offer letter to MDes candidates selected after Round 1 on 20 May 2025. The letter has been sent to the email ID of the shortlisted candidates.

Seat allotment is strictly based on NID DAT merit rank, candidate preferences, category, and seat availability.

What is the NID Exam 2025?

The NID Exam (National Institute of Design Entrance Exam) is a national-level examination conducted by the National Institute of Design (NID) to select candidates for its undergraduate and postgraduate design programs. NID Exam Dates 2025

NID DAT 2025 registration is currently ongoing. The application form is open from 3rd September 2024 to 3rd December 2024. NID Exam 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Only applicants who meet the criteria established by the exam conducting authority are eligible to apply for the exam. Your application will be invalidated if you fail to meet the Eligibility Criteria for the NID Exam 2025. NID Aptitude Test - Age Limit

As stated in the official notification, Indian Nationals in the general and general EWS categories must have a birth date on or after 01 July 2004. For SC/ST/OBC-NCL category applicants, the birth date must be on or after 01 July 2001 to qualify for the NID entrance exam. Individuals in the PwD category need a birth date on or after 01 July 1999 for eligibility. Foreign nationals in the overseas category are eligible for admission if born on or after 1 July 2004.

Educational Qualification

To qualify for the exam, you need to have completed the final examination of 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognized board (AISSE/ICSE/CBSE). Those currently enrolled in the higher secondary examination for the academic year 2025 are also eligible to apply for the NID DAT exam. Applications for the academic year 2025-26 are open to candidates who have either passed or will appear for the higher secondary (10+2) qualifying examinations in any stream (Science, Arts, Commerce, Humanities, etc.) from a recognized board of education like CBSE, IB, ICSE, or its equivalent. How to Apply for NID 2025?

The application process for NID 2025 will be conducted online. The NID Registration process comprises four stages: online registration, completing the application form, document uploading, and application fee payment.

  • Visit the official NID website at www.nid.edu.
  • Click on the "New Registration" tab.
  • Enter a valid mobile number, email ID, and Date of Birth, then click submit.
  • Upon registration, login credentials will be sent to the provided email and mobile number.
  • Log in to the portal using the received credentials.
  • Fill in the application form accurately.
  • Upload all necessary documents in the specified format.
  • Pay the application fee online or offline.

The NID 2025 Admit Card is a compulsory document to be brought to the exam venue without exception. You can download the admit card by following these steps:
  • Visit the official NID website.
  • Click on link "NID 2025 Admit Card"
  • Enter credentials, as registration number and password.
  • Click submit.
  • Your Admit Card will appear on the screen.
  • Print out two copies for future reference (All Pages).

NID 2025 Exam Pattern

According to the notification, the NID exam comprises two stages: prelims and mains for both B.Des. and M.Des. NID DAT Prelims is further divided into two stages, i.e., Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Aptitude Test (GAT). The prelims is a pen and paper-based written exam while the NID DAT Mains comprises a Studio Test and Personal Interview.
