NIFT Courses 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Students awaiting their qualifying examination results may apply provisionally, but they must submit the required documents within the deadline specified by NIFT.

NIFT Course

Eligibility Criteria

B.Des

Candidates must have passed Class 12 from a recognised board in any stream. Those who have completed an equivalent examination, National Open School examination with at least five subjects, or a recognised three or four-year diploma may also apply.

B.F.Tech

Candidates must have passed Class 12 with Mathematics. Applicants with an equivalent qualification containing Mathematics or a recognised three or four-year engineering diploma are also eligible.

M.Des

Candidates must hold an undergraduate degree in any discipline from a recognised institution or a minimum three-year undergraduate diploma from NIFT or NID.

M.F.M

Applicants must have a recognised undergraduate degree in any discipline or a minimum three-year undergraduate diploma from NIFT or NID.

M.F.Tech

Candidates must possess a B.F.Tech degree, a B.E./B.Tech degree, or another recognised four-year B.F.Tech qualification.

Candidates should verify the complete programme-specific requirements before submitting their application.

NIFT Admission Process 2026

The NIFT admission process begins with online registration for NIFTEE through the official NTA examination portal. Candidates must select the appropriate programme, enter their academic and personal details, upload the required documents, and pay the application fee online.

The selection stages vary by course:

  • B.Des: GAT and CAT, followed by a Situation Test for shortlisted candidates.

  • B.F.Tech: Selection is based entirely on the GAT score, with no second-stage test.

  • M.Des: GAT and CAT, followed by a Personal Interview.

  • M.F.M and M.F.Tech: GAT followed by a Personal Interview.

Final merit is prepared using the applicable entrance test and second-stage scores. Qualified candidates must then register for NIFT counselling, complete document verification, and participate in the seat-allocation process.
