NIFT Result 2026 Tie-Breaking Rule

In the event of a tie in the NIFT result 2026, a tie-breaking rule will be implemented to determine the merit ranks among candidates with identical scores. The rule is explained below. 

• The marks in tests with higher weightage will be considered first. For B.Des candidates, marks in the Creative Ability Test (CAT) will be compared initially and used to break the tie.
• If the CAT scores are identical, marks obtained in the General Ability Test (GAT) will be used to break the tie.
• If the tie persists, subject-wise marks will be evaluated in the following order: Communication Ability, English Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, Analytical Ability, and finally General Knowledge and Current Affairs.

NIFT Result 2026 Bonus Marks for Incorrect Questions

The National Test Agency will release the NIFT question paper and answer key after the conclusion of the exam. In case candidates have attempted any wrong questions in the paper, benefit marks will be awarded to them. 

• If a question asked in the NIFT exam 2026 is found to be wrong, for any reason, bonus marks will be awarded to candidates who have attempted that question. On examining the challenges by the subject experts, if it is found that along with the original answer key, one or more options are correct, then marks will be awarded to all those candidates who have attempted any one of the correct options. 
• Once the NIFT results 2026 are declared, no further objections or grievances will be entertained. 
• The NIFT answer key is likely to be released in April 2026.
