NIFT Counselling 2025

NIFT Counselling 2025 has officially begun. It provides admission to UG and PG design across various NIFT campuses nationwide. NIFT Counselling 2025 is being conducted online for both undergraduate and postgraduate admissions, following the announcement of final results. NIFT Counseling Round 3 is ongoing. On July 28, 2025, the Round 3 seat allotments will be made available. Shortlisted candidates will next have to pay the admission fee and indicate their willingness to be admitted between July 28 and 29, 2025. The allocated institutions will be physically reported on July 30, 2025. The NIFT counselling 2025 details includes multiple seat allotment rounds followed by a Spot Round to fill any remaining vacancies. Subsequent rounds and spot admissions will continue through July and August. Eligible candidates must register online, fill in their academic program and campus preferences, upload required documents, and pay a registration fee of INR 9,300.

NIFT Counselling 2025 Overview

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) started registration for NIFT e-counselling and seat allotment. By 4 July 2025 (Midnight), candidates must select their NIFT counselling process 2025 and course preference on the official website. Candidates who have obtained a valid Common Merit Rank (CMR) must register by 1 July 2025. The seat allotment will be based on merit ranks and choices filled by candidates.

NIFT Counselling Schedule 2025

NIFT Counselling 2025 will be conducted in five rounds, starting with online registration and document uploading from 24 June to 1 July 2025, following the final result announcement on 22 June 2025. Candidates must complete choice filling and locking by 6 July, with the first round of seat allotment scheduled for 7 July 2025. NIFT E Counselling 2025

NIFT e-Counselling for 2025 admissions is now in progress, consisting of three counseling rounds and a spot round for qualified applicants. The procedure includes online registration, document verification, choice-making, seat distribution according to preferences and merit, and payment of fees. Seat allocation for the second round is set for July 18, 2025. 

Rank Holders Eligible for NIFT Counselling 2025

Candidates eligible for NIFT Ug counselling 2025 are those who have secured a valid Common Merit Rank (CMR) in the NIFT 2025 entrance exam and have qualified all required stages, such as the Situation Test or Interview, as applicable. Only these rank holders can register for the counselling process, fill in their programme and campus choices, and participate in seat allotment rounds.

The Round 3 NIFT Seat Allocation Results will be released on July 28, 2025. The candidate's login ID at https://nift.admissions.nic.in/ will provide the NIFT result of Seat Allocation of NIFT 3rd counselling. Candidates may get their Provisional Allotment Letter from their site after being allocated a seat. Changes and choice filling for NIFT Round 3 have been completed between July 24, 2025, and July 25, 2025 (midnight). Candidates can express their willingness and pay the entrance fee between July 28, 2025 and July 29, 2025.

NIFT Admission 2025

The results of the third round of e-counselling for the NIFT (National Institute of Fashion Technology) 2025 admissions process will be announced on July 28, 2025. For the results of the seat allotment, candidates who have filled out their preferences and enrolled for counseling can visit the official website, nift.admissions.nic.in. The last deadline for withdrawing from the admissions process is July 29, 2025, with refund procedures depending on that date. 

How to Register for NIFT Counselling 2025?

NIFT entrance exam is held annually for admission of candidates to design programs. Candidates who have secured a  Common Merit Rank (CMR) in NIFT 2025 will be eligible to participate in the NIFT 2025 counselling process. It consists of four seat allocation rounds. Candidates can check the following steps to know how to register for the NIFT 2025 counselling. 

  • Registration for NIFT 2025 Counselling

Visit the NIFT’s official website at nift.ac.in. Register yourself using your NIFT UG roll number, password, and security pin. Read the instructions displayed on the screen and agree to proceed. 

  • Fill your Personal Details

Enter your personal and contact details to complete the NIFT e counselling 2025 Form. Generate a new password. An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number to complete the registration. 

  • Pay the NIFT Counselling Fee

Candidates are required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of INR 9,300. This fee must be paid to participate in the NIFT counselling process. 

  • Fill in your Preferences

Fill in your design courses and campuses according to your preference. Make sure to lock your choices before the deadline, otherwise the last filled choices will be locked automatically. 

  • Upload Required Documents

Upload all necessary documents such as class 12th certificates/marksheets, college details, qualifying status, category certificates, etc on the portal. 

NIFT counselling process 2025: Choice Filling

For the choice filling process in NIFT 2025 counselling, candidates are given a list of campuses and design courses from which they have to select their preferences. The list will be available campus-wise and program-wise. Make your list of colleges according to your priority. Open the choice filing tab and add your preferences. 

NIFT counselling process 2025 Choice Locking

The NIFT 2025 Counselling Choice Locking Process is the final step in the choice submission phase, where candidates confirm their selected preferences for programs and campuses. After filling in choices, candidates must review their list and lock them by clicking the “I agree to lock my choices” option. This step ensures that no further modifications can be made to the submitted preferences. To complete the locking process, candidates need to authenticate using their password generated during registration. Candidates’ locked choices are considered final for seat allotment rounds.

NIFT Counselling 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria to participate in the NIFT 2025 counselling process. 

  • Candidates must have qualified in the NIFT 2025 entrance exam to be eligible for counselling. For UG programs, candidates should have passed the 10+2 exam or an equivalent from a recognized board. For PG programs, a valid UG degree is required. 
  • For candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC-NCL, General-EWS, and PwD categories, seats are reserved. Candidates must provide relevant certificates for these categories.
  • Both Indian and foreign nationals are eligible to apply if they meet the specified criteria.

NIFT Counselling Fee 2025

The NIFT Counselling Fee for 2025 includes a non-refundable registration fee of INR 9,300, which is mandatory for participating in the counselling process. Once a seat is allotted, candidates must pay a seat acceptance fee of INR 1,83,200. This fee is also non-refundable unless the candidate withdraws before the last round of counselling. The counselling process itself does not have an additional fee beyond registration and seat acceptance.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) uses a centralized counseling method to allocate seats. NIFT Counselling 2025 Seat Withdrawal & Refund of Fee

Candidates who are allotted seats in the first few rounds are given a choice to withdraw from the admission process. Candidates can withdraw their seats online before the deadline for each round, and the seat acceptance fee will be refunded accordingly. If withdrawal occurs before the final round, the full fee minus the registration fee of INR 9,300 is refunded. However, after the deadline or in the SPOT round, only the security deposit is refunded. 

For candidates belonging to NRI/ SAARC/ Foreign National/ OCI Candidates/ Children/wards of NRI, the following options are available for seat withdrawal and refund of fee.

NIFT Seat Withdrawal 2025 Important Points

The following points are some important points regarding NIFT Seat Withdrawal Process 2025. 

  • Candidates can withdraw their seats starting from the 2nd round. 
  • Seats can be withdrawn till the last rounds. 
  • Candidates who have withdrawn their seats will not participate in the next round of NIFT counselling. 
  • Once the seats are allotted in the last round of the counselling process, candidates will not be able to withdraw their seats. They are bound to accept the seats allotted to them in the final round of NIFT 2025 counselling.

Steps to Withdraw Seats from NIFT 2025 Counselling

To exercise their withdrawal options, candidates need to follow the given steps. 

  • Login to the NIFT admission portal using your credentials.
  • Select the “Withdraw” option from the seat allocation process. This will cancel the allotted seat.
  • Once the withdrawal is confirmed, the seat acceptance fee will be refunded according to NIFT's refund policy. If the withdrawal occurs before the deadline, the full fee minus the registration fee will be refunded. If it occurs after the deadline, only the security deposit will be refunded.
  • Candidates who withdraw their seats will not be considered for seat allotment in subsequent rounds.

Important Instructions for NIFT 2nd Round Counselling 2025 

Given below are some important instructions for the NIFT 2nd round counselling 2025.

  • If a candidate has taken admission and then withdrawn his/her seat, he/she will not be eligible to participate in the subsequent rounds of NIFT counselling.
  • NIFT second round counselling will be done based on merits.
  • PwD candidates will not be eligible for the NIFT 2nd round of counselling. 
  • Differently-abled candidates who have been allotted seats in the NIFT first round of counselling, will not proceed further with NIFT 2nd round counselling.
  • Candidates have to register online for the NIFT second round counselling.
  • Barring the registration fee, the counselling procedure is the same for the 2nd round. Candidates have to pay INR 5,000 to re-register.
  • If there are any vacant NRI seats, then they will be offered for admission to the students in round 2.

NIFT Spot Round 2025

The NIFT Spot Round 2025 is the final stage of the counselling process, conducted to fill any remaining vacant seats after 4 regular rounds of seat allotment. This round operates on a first-come, first-served basis, allowing candidates to secure seats based on availability. Fresh registrations are opened for the Spot Round, and seats are allocated without waiting lists.

NIFT Result 2025

The NIFT 2025 Final Result for UG and PG programmes was announced on 22June 2025 on the official NTA website, exams.nta.ac.in/NIFT. Candidates can download their scorecards by logging in with their application number and date of birth once the results are declared. The result is prepared based on the candidate's overall performance in the written exams (GAT and CAT) and Situation Test or Personal Interview.
