The announcement of the NIFTEE 2025 Final Results made the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) to begin NIFT 2025 counseling. To download the NIFT 2025 seat allotment list, candidates need to access the official NIFT seat allotment portal and log in with their credentials. Candidates can download the seat allotment list using the following steps mentioned below. 

• Visit the official NIFT seat allotment website at nift.admissions.nic.in.
• Enter your NIFT roll number and password on the login page. 
• Once logged in, view your seat allotment result for the course and campus you applied to. 
• Click on the link to download your “Provisional Allotment Letter” or the seat allotment list for your records. 
• After downloading, proceed as per the instructions, such as fee payment and submission of willingness (freeze, float, or slide) to confirm your admission. 

Who is Eligible for NIFT Seat Allotment Registration 2025?

Candidates who have secured a valid Common Merit Rank (CMR) in the NIFT 2025 entrance examination will be eligible for NIFT 2025 seat allotment registration. Aspirants must also satisfy all program-specific eligibility criteria, including age and educational qualifications for their chosen course. 

Eligibility extends to candidates from various categories such as General, SC, ST, OBC-NCL, GEN-EWS, PwD, NRI, and state domicile, provided they have the necessary supporting documents. Only those meeting these requirements can participate in the seat allocation and counselling process for admission in 2025. 

NIFT 2025 Seat Acceptance Options

During the NIFT 2025 seat allotment process, candidates are offered multiple seat acceptance options after being allotted a seat. These options include freeze, float, slide, and withdraw options, and are explained below. Candidates need to either confirm their current seat, seek upgrades in future rounds, or exit the admission process as per their preferences and plans. 

• Freeze: If you are satisfied with your allotted seat and do not wish to participate in further rounds, select the freeze option. This confirms your seat at the allotted campus and program. Pay the admission fee to secure your place. Such candidates will not be considered for upgrades in subsequent rounds. 
• Float: Choose float if you accept your current seat but also want to be considered for higher preference choices in future rounds. If you receive a higher preference seat later, your previous seat will be automatically forfeited. Candidates only need to pay the seat acceptance fee once. 
• Slide: The slide option is for candidates who wish to upgrade their program (such as B.Des or M.Des) within the same NIFT campus. You retain your current seat but will be considered for a higher preference program at the same institute in subsequent rounds. 
• Withdraw: If you want to cancel your allotted seat after acceptance, use the withdraw option. Withdrawals made before the specified deadline are eligible for a refund (minus the registration fee). Such candidates will not be considered for further seat allotment rounds.

NIFT Seat Acceptance Fee

Candidates must pay the NIFT seat acceptance fee to confirm their allotted seat after the seat allotment results are announced. For this admission cycle, the seat acceptance fee is Rs 1,83,200, payable online within the specified deadline. State Domicile Rules for NIFT Seat Allotment 2025

According to the state in which the schooling is done (having completed their 12th class), candidates will be categorized under the domicile categories. The following are important pointers related to this. 

• 20% seats are earmarked for candidates whose domicile is the same as the state where the school is located. 
• A 35% reservation quota is granted to eligible candidates of the Union Territories of Ladakh, Kashmir, and Jammu and Kashmir migrants. 
• SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) reservations apply within these domicile seats as per existing norms. 
• Candidates must select the domicile option during registration, and this choice cannot be changed later. 
• During the registration process, candidates are allowed to change their date of birth and state of domicile. No changes will be accepted in nationality, category, or PwD status. 
• Candidates can choose the option to apply under the NRI-sponsored seats. 
• Candidates need to fill out their additional information, like qualification details, contact details, during the registration process.
