UCEED 2017 Question Paper Overview

The UCEED 2017 exam was conducted by IIT Bombay on 22 January 2017. The question paper had a total duration of three hours and consisted of 85 questions carrying 300 marks in all. The paper was divided into three compulsory sections — A, B, and C — with each section featuring a different question format.

UCEED 2017 Question Paper Pattern

Section A: Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions

Section A carries 80 marks and contains 20 Numerical Answer Type questions, numbered 1 to 20. Candidates had to enter a real number as the answer using a virtual keyboard, with no answer choices provided. 

Each correct answer is awarded 4 marks, and there is no negative marking in this section as per PYQs.

Section B: Multiple Select Questions (MSQ)

Section B carries 100 marks and consists of 25 Multiple Select Questions, numbered 21 to 45. Each question could have one or more correct choices out of four options. Candidates receive 4 marks only if all correct choices are selected with no wrong choices. There was no partial marking and no negative marking in this section.

Section C: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ)

Section C carries 120 marks with 40 Multiple Choice Questions, numbered 46 to 85. Each question has four choices with only one correct answer. This section has negative marking: 3 marks for a correct answer and a deduction of 1 mark for a wrong answer. No marks for unattempted questions.
