Important Key Changes in CUET UG 2025

• Fewer Subjects Allowed : The UGC Chairman, Jagadesh Kumar, confirmed that students can now take only five subjects. This decision is part of an effort to simplify the exam structure and help students focus on their chosen subjects without feeling overwhelmed.
• Computer-Based Test Only : Starting in 2025, CUET will be conducted only as a computer-based test (CBT). This means there will no longer be a mix of online and offline exams. The UGC believes that using a single format will make the testing process more reliable and secure for all candidates.
• Flexible Subject Choices : One major change is that students can now choose subjects they might not have studied in Class 12. This flexibility encourages students to explore different fields of study without being limited by their previous education.

• Fewer Subjects Offered : The total number of subjects available has been reduced from 63 to 37. This change focuses on core subjects that are most relevant for undergraduate admissions, making it easier for students to choose what to study. UGC has removed Entrepreneurship, Teaching Aptitude, Fashion Studies, Tourism, Legal Studies, Engineering Graphics, etc subjects in CUET.
