JEE Advanced 2025 comprises two papers, namely Paper 1 and Paper 2. Each paper is of a maximum of 180 marks, so the total aggregate marks are 360. Each of the subjects, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, contains a maximum of 120 marks (60 marks in each paper).
The All India Ranks (AIR) are awarded according to the overall aggregate marks out of 360. In case two or more candidates have the same aggregate marks, the following tie-breaking criteria apply:
Higher Positive Marks: The candidate having higher positive marks (leaving aside negative marking) will be awarded a higher rank.
Marks in Mathematics: If the tie prevails, the candidate having higher marks in Mathematics will receive a superior rank.
Marks in Physics: If the tie still remains, the candidate with higher marks in Physics will be given a higher rank.
Same Rank: When the tie is still not broken even after these processes, the candidates will receive the same rank.
