JEE Main Reservation Criteria 2025 For OBC-NCL
The authority releases a list of other backward classes on the official website of the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC) which has to be followed under JEE Main Reservation Criteria 2025. Candidates who fall under this category must select OBC reservation in
JEE Mains exam
while filling out JEE Main Application Form 2025. Other candidates who fall under the OBC list as per the list of their respective states will have to choose the General category.
JEE Main Reservation Criteria 2025 for Persons with Disabilities (PwD)
Candidates with 40% or more disability can claim JEE Main Reservation Criteria 2025 for Persons with Disabilities. Candidates with Blindness and low vision, Deaf and hard of hearing, Locomotor disabilities including cerebral palsy, leprosy, dwarfism, acid attack victims, and muscular dystrophy, Autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability, and mental illness, Multiple disabilities, Other specified disabilities can claim the benefits. Approximately 5% of the total seats are reserved for candidates with disabilities.
JEE Main Reservation Criteria 2025 For Women
Many engineering colleges that take part in the JEE Main exam have realized how important it is to have more women in engineering. So, they have reserved some amount of seats for women in every engineering college. A total of 5% of seats are now reserved for women in every engineering institute. Women candidates who want to take advantage of this reservation need to apply through the designated Women Quota System.
JEE Main Reservation Criteria 2025 for EWS
To prompt inclusivity and provide equal opportunities, NTA introduced reservation criteria for JEE Main exam. Candidates from the Economically Weaker Sections category can avail 10% reservation benefits of the total seats. There are some conditions for applying for EWS category reservations as mentioned below
If a candidate’s parents own a residential plot that’s 200 square yards or larger in areas outside the specified municipality.
If a candidate’s family owns at least 5 acres of agricultural land.
If a candidate’s parents have a residential plot that’s 100 square yards or larger in specific municipalities.
If a candidate personally owns a residential flat that’s 1,000 square feet or larger.
JEE Main Reservation Criteria 2025 in State Universities
Candidates from different regions can also avail the opportunities of JEE Main Reservation Criteria. This reservation can be defined in two quotas
Home State Quota:
Candidates who have passed the class 12 board exam from a specific state and also cleared JEE Main exam are eligible for the home state quota. Candidates from this category receive preference other than the candidates from other states.
Other State Quota:
This
category includes candidates who are applying from states and union territories other than their home states. These candidates do not have the same preference as home-state candidates.
Process to Claim JEE Main Reservation 2025?
Candidates need to follow some formalities to enjoy the benefits provided for the candidates from reserved categories. Check the steps below to claim JEE Main Reservation 2025
The first step for candidates is to fill out the JEE Main 2024 application form, where they must provide various details, including their category.
They do not need to provide proof of their category at this initial stage.
If a candidate forgets to select the correct reserved category, their further claims may not be accepted by the authorities.

JEE Main 2024 counseling process
, candidates will need to present specific documents, including caste or category certificates.
Candidates who cannot provide proof of belonging to a reserved category for JEE Main 2024 will be considered as candidates in the unreserved or general category.
