• Higher Marks in Mathematics :  The first step in resolving a tie is checking the marks obtained in Mathematics. An applicant who has scored higher marks in this subject will be given a higher rank. If both applicants have the same Mathematics marks, the next criterion is applied.

• Higher Marks in Physics : If the tie still exists after considering Mathematics marks, then the marks obtained in Physics are compared. An applicant with higher marks in Physics will be given a higher rank. If their Physics scores are also the same, the next step is used.

• Combined Score of Mathematics and Physics : If the applicants have the same total score, Mathematics score, and Physics score, then their combined marks in both Mathematics and Physics are considered. An applicant with the higher sum of these two subjects will be ranked higher. If the tie is still not resolved, the next rule is applied.

• Age Factor : If the tie remains even after considering the Mathematics and Physics marks, then the age of the applicants is taken into account. The older applicant is given preference and ranked higher. This criterion is used to ensure a fair ranking process when academic scores are identical.

• Random Selection (Final Step) : In the rarest case where all the above methods fail to break the tie, a random selection process is used. A computerized system conducts a lottery-based selection to decide the ranks of the tied applicants. This method is used only when no other criteria can determine the ranking.

Applicants must complete the registration process within this period. The last date for fee payment for registered applicants is Monday, May 5, 2025, at 23:59 IST. The JEE Advanced 2025 exam will be conducted on Sunday, May 18, 2025, with Paper 1 from 09:00 to 12:00 IST and Paper 2 from 14:30 to 17:30 IST.
