CLAT Exam Pattern 2025: The CLAT Exam Pattern 2025 has been officially released by the Consortium of NLUs. There have been no changes in the CLAT 2025 exam pattern. The Consortium has revised the exam pattern for the CLAT 2024. According to the CLAT Exam Pattern 2025, there will be 120 multiple-choice questions based on English Language, Current Affairs including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning and Quantitative Techniques. Before appearing for the CLAT 2025 exam, candidates must go through the exam pattern comprehensively to understand the sectional time limit, exam structure, marking scheme, and sections.

CLAT Exam Pattern 2025: Key Features

The Consortium has released the official exam pattern for the CLAT 2025 exam. Some of the important aspects related to the exam pattern are discussed below. Before starting their preparation, candidates must be well-rehearsed with the CLAT 2025 exam pattern to attempt the paper more efficiently and maximize their marks.
  • Total Number of Questions and Marking Scheme for CLAT 2025: The CLAT UG exam will have 120 multiple-choice questions carrying 1 mark each.
  • Exam Difficulty Level: It is expected that the CLAT 2025 exam difficulty level will range between moderate to difficult. The questions on Quantitative Techniques will be from class 10th elementary mathematics.
  • Passage-Based Questions: Apart from the Quantitative Techniques section, the rest 4 sections will consist of passage-based questions. The Logical Reasoning section will have short passages of around 350 words, while the English Language and Legal Reasoning section will comprise long passage-based questions of about 450 words. Each passage in these sections will be followed by a series of questions. Candidates have to answer these questions based on the information provided in the passages.
  • Quantitative Techniques Section: This section includes questions based on graphs, facts, pictorial representation, propositions, etc. Candidates are required to derive answers from these passages and graphical representations.
  • CLAT 2025 Total Marks: The CLAT 2025 exam is worth 120 marks.
  • Negative Marking: For an incorrect answer, there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks in the CLAT exam.
  • Skills Needed: Candidates will be evaluated on their comprehension and reasoning skills. The ability to derive answers from passages will prove beneficial in the exam.

CLAT 2025 Exam Pattern: Marking Scheme

As per the official notification, the CLAT 2025 exam pattern has not been changed. The CLAT marking scheme has been released by the Consortium of NLUs. The following are the important pointers related to the CLAT 2025 marking scheme.
  • Candidates will be awarded +1 marks for each correct answer.
  • There will be no marks deducted or awarded for unanswered questions.
  • There is a penalty of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.
