In the New Indian Government 2024, there will be 71 ministers, including 30 cabinet ministers, 36 ministers of state, and 5 ministers of state with independent charge.

Shri Rajnath Singh, former Defence Minister is an M.Sc. (Physics) graduate from Gorakhpur University and a senior party leader in BJP. He campaigned extensively, advocating for the 'one nation-one election' policy, and won the Lucknow seat by a margin of over 1.35 lakh votes. Singh has been pivotal in addressing issues like the Agniveer scheme and Indo-China border tensions, assuring the public of the Army's competence.

Nirmala Sitharaman - Finance Minister

Shirmati Nirmala Sitharaman was the Finance Minister in the previous Modi government. A famous name in Modi Cabinet 3.0, she is an economics graduate, who studied at Seethalakshmi Ramaswamy College and Jawaharlal Nehru University. First elected in 2014, Ms Sitharaman has held various other key positions, including Defence Minister and Minister of State for Finance, Corporate Affairs, and Commerce.

Amit Shah - Home Minister

Shri Amit Shah is a popular Modi Cabinet Minister 2024 and the former Union Home Minister who was known for bold policies like Article 370 dilution. He has been a prominent BJP campaigner and won his Gandhinagar seat by a margin of about 7.4 lakh votes. Shah actively represents party views and is famous for his take on the National Register of Citizens.

Chirag Paswan - Food Processing Industries Minister

Shri Chirag Paswan is an Indian politician and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) president. He won the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Jamui constituency. Paswan launched the "Bihar First, Bihari First" campaign and was replaced as LJP leader by his uncle Pashupati Kumar Paras. He won the 2024 Lok Sabha election from the Hajipur constituency and took oath as a Cabinet Minister on 9 June 2024 along with 71 other ministers.

S. Jaishankar - Foreign Minister

Mr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar is a recognized IFS officer who served as Foreign Secretary from Jan 2015 to 2018 before becoming Minister of External Affairs in May 2019. Notably, he facilitated the evacuation of Indian citizens from conflict zones like Ukraine, Sudan, and Israel. A member of the Rajya Sabha, S. Jaishankar, has famously authored Why Bharat Matters and The India Way: Strategies for an Uncertain World.

Piyush Goyal - Commerce Minister

Shri Piyush Goyal has held various portfolios, including railways, finance, and commerce, in the NAMO government. Son of the late Vedprakash Goyal, a former Cabinet Minister, he was a chartered accountant and management professional before joining politics to continue his family's political legacy. This year, he won from North Mumbai by a margin of 3.6 lakh votes and retained his position in the NDA 3.0 Cabinet.

Jyotiraditya Scindia - Telecom Minister

Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia, former Minister for Civil Aviation in the erstwhile government has previously served in the Congress. Scindia holds a degree from Harvard University and Stanford University's Graduate School of Business joining the league of most educated Cabinet Ministers list in Modi 3.0. He won his first election from Guna by over 5.4 lakh votes after joining the BJP in 2020.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan - Agriculture Minister

Widely known for being the longest-serving Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan now prepares for his sixth tenure in Delhi. He holds a gold-medal master's in philosophy and governed the MP state for almost 18 years. Chouhan secured victory in the Vidisha Lok Sabha constituency by approximately 8.2 lakh votes before being sworn in as the cabinet minister.

Mansukh Mandviya - Sports Minister

Previously, the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Mr. Mansukh Mandviya won the Porbandar constituency in the recent general elections by a margin of 3.8 lakh votes. He holds a postgraduate degree in Political Science and a doctorate focusing on the role of rural schools in community development.

Ashwini Vaishnaw - Railways Minister

Ashwini Vaishnaw is a member of the Upper House representing Odisha and served as Minister of Railways, Communications, and Electronics and Information Technology in the previous government. An IIT-Kanpur alumnus Vaishnaw is a 1994-batch IAS officer with an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School.
