GATE Scorecard 2027: Expected Release Date, Download Steps & Validity

Every GATE aspirant waits for one thing after the result: the scorecard. It is the official document that confirms your marks, rank, and eligibility for admissions and jobs. Knowing when it arrives and how to use it is essential for smooth post-exam planning. 

IIT Madras has officially announced that the GATE 2027 results will be declared on March 19, 2027. Following this, the GATE 2027 scorecard is expected to be released by the final week of March 2027.

Following the official timeline released by IIT Madras, the GATE 2027 result will be declared on March 19, 2027. Based on historical cycles, the scorecard download link is expected to go live by the final week of March 2027. Candidates will be able to download it from the official GOAPS portal using their login credentials once the download window is activated.

Steps to Download the GATE 2027 Scorecard

Once the GATE 2027 scorecard is released, candidates will be able to download it through the official GATE/GOAPS portal using their login credentials. You can follow the steps below to access and save your scorecard for future admissions and recruitment purposes.

• Step 1: Visit the official GATE website once the scorecard link is active.

• Step 2: Look for the "Scorecard Download" option.

• Step 3: Log in using your registered email ID/enrollment credentials and password. 

• Step 4: Your GATE 2027 scorecard will be displayed on screen.

• Step 5: Download and print a copy for future reference.

Candidates are strongly advised to download and save their scorecards during the official free-access window. Once this period expires, retrieving a copy from the portal requires a late retrieval fee of Rs. 500 per test paper. 

GATE 2027 Scorecard Validity

GATE 2027 scorecard will remain valid for three years from the date of the result. Validity, however, differs depending on where it is used:

Validity for IIT and NIT Admissions

The scorecard valid for three years, allowing candidates to apply for M.Tech and PhD programmes at IITs and NITs across multiple admission cycles.

Validity for PSU Recruitment

For PSU recruitment, the validity of the GATE scorecard depends on the rules, regulations, and independent notifications of the respective employment organisations. 

Validity for Government Jobs

Government organisations considering GATE scores for recruitment typically accept them for one to three years, depending on the job notification.

Validity for Foreign Universities and IIM Mumbai Admissions 

Several foreign universities, including institutions in Singapore and Germany, have historically accepted GATE scores for postgraduate admissions, usually valid for up to three years. Similarly, for specialised postgraduate programs at institutions like IIM Mumbai (formerly known as NITIE), the scorecard is expected to remain valid for three years from the result declaration date.

GATE 2027 Qualifying Marks

Candidates will need to meet the minimum qualifying marks set for their discipline to receive a GATE 2027 scorecard. These marks are decided by the organising authority and will be confirmed alongside the official GATE 2027 result declaration.
