GATE Exam Centres 2025: The list of GATE Exam Centres 2025 has been released by IIT Roorkee at gate2025.iitr.ac.in. As per the official information, the GATE 2025 Exam will be conducted in more than 200 cities across the country. There is no international centre for the GATE 2025 examination.

The foreign applicants are required to travel to India to take the test. The GATE 2025 Exam Cities are classified under 8 different zones including IISc Bengaluru, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee.

The GATE applicants must list their top three exam locations in the application form for each of the three cities. We have mentioned the entire list of GATE exam centres in 2025 here for the ease of test takers.

The GATE 2025 exam is scheduled to be held on February 1, 2, 15 & 16, 2025 for 30 different branches. IIT Roorkee has also released the GATE Admit Card 2025 on January 7, 2025 at gate2025.iitr.ac.in. Candidates can explore the comprehensive list of GATE 2025 Exam Centres in this article.

GATE Exam Centers 2025

IISc Bangalore, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee will be the eight zonal centres for GATE 2025 . The IIT Roorkee has released the list of GATE 2025 Exam Cities for all 8 zones on the official portal.

The conducting body has changed the exam centre from Prayagraj to Lucknow due to amid of Mahakumbh Mela. Candidates who were allotted exam centres earlier at Prayagraj now have their test centre are changed to Lucknow. Examinees must download their revised admit cards from the GOAPS Portal, goaps.iitr.ac.in.

GATE Exam Centres 2025 for Foreign Nationals

The Graduate Aptitude Test In Engineering is a most reputed examination for which thousands of Indian nationals, as well as Foreign candidates, appear every year. The government has stated that there won't be any outside EXAM centres for GATE 2025 for foreigners. Candidates who registered at these centres will have the choice of changing the location of their exam or receiving a refund of their registration money. As per the official update, there will be no international centre for the GATE 2025 exam. Candidates outside India need to travel to India to appear for the examination.

Important Highlights of GATE Exam Centres 2025

  • Due to Mahakumbh Mela, IIT Roorkee has changed the GATE Exam Centres from Prayagraj to Lucknow.
  • Candidates are required to select the preference of three exam centres while submitting the online application form. The exam centre is allotted based on the preference chosen by the applicant.
  • In Andhra Pradesh, GATE exam sites will be spread across 15 cities.
  • West Bengal has 12 cities with GATE exam centres spread throughout them.

Guidelines for GATE Exam Centres 2025

The list of essential instructions to be followed while going to the GATE 2025 Exam Centre is given below:

  • Entry to the examination centre is restricted to individuals who have a valid GATE 2025 admit card and a photo ID.
  • Aim to get to the testing site at least an hour before the exam.
  • Scribble pads will be provided for rough work; they must be returned after the exam is finished.
  • An on-screen virtual scientific calculator will be provided for the calculations.
  • Entry to the exam room will be prohibited after 9:30 AM (for the morning session) and 14:30 PM (for the afternoon session).

How to Select GATE Exam Centres 2025?

  • The first and second GATE exam centres 2025 must be in the same exam zone. The third GATE centre of choice may be located in any zone.
  • After inputting all the required data, candidates can select a GATE exam location.
  • Candidates can select any of the centres based on convenience, keeping their closest city in mind.
  • The selection of GATE exam locations for 2025 will be based on a first-come, first-served system.
  • After properly registering, candidates may download their GATE 2025 admit card, which includes details on the exam's date, time, and location.

How can I Change the GATE 2025 Exam City?

If candidates want to change the test city for GATE 2025, they need to follow the necessary steps listed below:

Step 1: Go to the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) at goaps.iitr.ac.in.

Step 2: Use your enrollment ID or email address, password, and captcha to access your account.

Step 3: Select a different examination city.

Step 4: You must pay Rs. 500 after making modifications to the GATE 2025 examination city.

Dos and Don'ts at GATE Exam Centres 2025

Dos’ Don’ts
Arrive at GATE Exam Centres 30 minutes before the exam begins. Do not leave after the exam has started in order to avoid missing the important instructions provided by the exam centre.
a valid government-issued ID card and a downloadable admission card are required. Do not bring a soft copy of your admit card or any other form of identification.
Locate the seat with the roll number in the GATE 2025 exam room. Do not sit in a seat that does not belong to you because it may cause problems during the exam.
Provide all biometric data as requested by the instructor at the appropriate time. Do not bring your valid ID card into the exam room if it has any defects.
Before the timer expires, try to finish each response as it will be automatically saved and closed after that. And there won't be any more time for you to finish the response. Before exiting the examination room, follow the post-exam instructions provided by the appropriate authority.
