The IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2025 is the entrance exam for admission to IISER institutes. Candidates must meet specific eligibility requirements regarding nationality, education, and performance in their qualifying exams.
To apply for IAT 2025, candidates must meet the educational qualifications given below:
Candidates must have passed Class XII (or equivalent) in 2023, 2024, or 2025 with the science stream from a recognized board.
They must have studied at least three of the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics in Class XII.
Mathematics is compulsory for admission to the following programs:
5-year BS-MS in Computational and Data Sciences at IISER Kolkata
4-year B.Tech at IISER Bhopal
4-year BS in Economic Sciences at IISER Bhopal
4-year BS in Economic and Statistical Sciences at IISER Tirupati
The aggregate percentage includes marks from all subjects studied in Class XII.

Students from Jammu & Kashmir (JKBOSE Winter Zone) and Ladakh who passed Class XII in December 2022 are also eligible but must select 2023 as their passing year while applying.
Kashmiri Pandit/Kashmiri Hindu Families (Non-Migrants) can apply under the Kashmiri Migrant category if they meet other eligibility criteria. They must upload a valid domicile certificate during the application process.

Candidates awaiting results can apply, but admission will be confirmed only if they meet all eligibility requirements.
If a student appeared for Class XII in 2024 and reappeared for any subject in 2025, the best of the two scores will be considered.
If a board calculates aggregate marks based on Class XI and XII, only Class XII marks will be considered.
For 3-year diploma students, only final-year marks will be considered.
If a semester system is followed, only final two semesters will be considered.

Candidates applying for IAT 2025 must meet the nationality requirements. The exam is open to Indian Nationals, Overseas Citizens of India (OCI), and Persons of Indian Origin (PIO). Foreign Nationals can also apply, but they must provide an equivalence certificate issued by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) unless they have studied under a COBSE-recognized board in India.
